D3 Player Statistics.

Can someone confirm the graph on the following page for me?

Xfire - Diablo III

Is that an accurate indicator? I understand its a sample of the total population - but none the less its a significant sample size; showing a significant drop in players.

I feel its affected the AH rates.....
 
This last patch with all the nerfs added to the other bad patches has been a cause of the decline.
 
You have to realize this is only among xfire users. Xfire is something that isn't used by the "casual" crowd, and more so by the "true gamers". Those are the first ones that get bored with a game like D3.. Too much farming, not enough action and instant gratification.

I don't deny there has probably been a decline of the d3 playerbase (i for one play a lot less.. and not at all since DB has been down), but I think there will always be a decent amount of players.

You can't use a gamer tool like xfire to show statistics about a casual-gaming oriented game like d3

I agree with this. But isn't it the hardcore that gave longevity to D2? Or has that changed in 2012 where casuals flood the MMO market....
 
67k hours played is still a shitton...

It's only natural that the playerbase will slowly decline, but hey, d2 still has 1k hours played after 15 years ;p

Glad i put a helmet on before i did the math, cause it just blew my mind... lol ZOMG on the stats.

67k hrs equals:
- 2791 days
- 232 months (games has been out for 1 month)
- 7.65 yrs

Keep in mind, this is ONLY for people that use xfire too...

WOW.

Not really, the playerbase varied constantly (people played for 6 months, stopped for a year, etc). It was just such a great game that you always came back.
