Sorry, I couldn't help myself but just wanted to get the mindset of the DB community here. If you check the Battle.net forums, the echoes of all the QQ that is going on from the patch adjustments are reverberating throughout all D3 sites. As players of Diablo 3, what are your thoughts of the changes? Please refrain from all "BOYCOTT ActiBLIZZ!! DIABLO 3 IS NOW PAY TO PROGRESS" For those who have given the patch a decent chance and played a good amount, is it a better game from the changes (as a actual player, not botter)? Does it detract or add to the game (not including the DB stuff)?

My stance (so far): After logging on my Wizard, it was super depressing seeing my damage drop 30% and seeing the attack animation so much slower from before. However, I can see how the changes promote teamplay (by utilizing other mechanics of the spells/attacks) rather than just the "machine gun number spam" of the max attack speed stacking. Your thoughts?

FYI: The purpose of this thread is to change some of the focus from all the legalities of DB. I hope that Bossland and friends are turn it around and get DB back up and wish them the best of luck. Just would like to see other threads than "Refund" and "DB down, WHY?" Would appreciate some insightful discussion to follow, thanks!

EDIT: I'm not saying you're not allowed to dislike the patch. If you do, please provide reasoning beyond "I PAID $XXX or XXX GOLD FOR ITEM AND NOW IT'S WORTHLESS, F#&K BLIZZ!"

I have not played in the new patch, but as far as I know they will/have nerfed act 2, 3 & 4 in inferno mode, which I did not see being necessary. Another thing I dislike is the idea about just increasing the repair bill. But I think the IAS nerf was justified.

Yesh i also agree that repair bills should not be rocket sky high, I am playing DH although the nerf reduce my damage however its still fair for melee classes:rolleyes: I guess Blizard made their games Dumb n Dummber. Degrading into a lifeless lifeform.

I've played a little bit of Act 2 and I don't get 2 shot anymore (Galvanizing Ward) and handle 4-6 hits before I'm dead. To me, Inferno now seems a lot more like a Heroic Instance in WoW now. I get that there are tons of people that either don't like that or agree with that sentiment but from what I've seen, you really need to coordinate with others to do well.

I have mixed Reviews. I have a geared 60 DH and Monk. First thing I did after patch this morning, solo Act 4 Inferno on my Monk and solo kill Diablo in Inferno! :) made me happy. Then i tried out my DH a bit, i used to farm act 3 inferno pre-patch on him, and i still can. major difference, i swapped Nether Tentacles for Lightning Orb and put a Perfect Star Amethyst in my Bow to replace the Perfect Star Emerald that was there before. Orb has always done more dmg than tentacles anyway (larger aoe range and 2-3hits per target as it passes through instead of just 1-2 hits from NT). So personally for my characters and builds i like it.

But they nerfed Atk Speed WAY too much, didnt affect me very much since i relied more on base atk speed on bow coupled with crit chance and dmg. but my buddy running a WD with 80k+ dmg pre patch is down to 35k post-patch. That is way to large of a nerf. 50%+ ias nerf was not needed and they seriously need to swap that to either diminishing returns or 20-30% base. not 50%...

last note, i am very glad i dumped my 1.3k dps xbow for 60mill a week ago because now a base atk speed of 1.1 with the atk speed nerfs is just terrible. Bows All the Way from here on out! :)

Also pretty mixed. Some things I enjoyed, some I thought had poor reasoning, and some was just simply uncalled for. Blizzard will cave, they caved due to the game limit QQ. Thread after thread were flooding the forums, they will revert some of the more extreme changes.

i super easy farmed act 3 with my barb... damage nerf is insane, prolly 20-30% in act 3

belial nerf is amazing, damage is down but the enrage timer is 4 mins and you need about 15k dps to kill him in his final phase before 4 mins.

my wiz / DH friends are hating their lives and respecing tanking

i feel powerful for once because im sitting there tanking soul lasher elites, thru the molten/plague/arcane haha

Too bad every class has to have the resist all/hp/armor like a barb to survive like that -- drastically turning what was once a damage dealer into a gimp ranged barb/monk...

Just gear up. I sold all my %ias stuff with mage. And spend a lot of money in items with INT+All Res+VIT. Can't wait to try my wiz on act4 inferno tonight !

This patch was great, It greatly effected those players that relied on IAS to much. But to those players who did not rely on IAS they are doing fine, Like my self i never went out hardcore on IAS. + Higher tiers got nerfed so it really wasnt that bad.

MF not working on chest has hurt me a lot along with boss's/elites/rares no longer guarenteed to drop 2 magic items even with my MF gear I barely get anything from my farm sessions

good thing I do like is the chance to get 60+ gear from inferno being increased and the item levels on gear

did not notice much on the balancing side of inferno my witch doctor got hit bad by the attk speed debuff scrambling to make a new build and buy new gear (which hurts DB is down so only making 200k an hour rather than 400k)

so yeah some likes some dislikes over all it is a dislike for me as a whole

P.S. if anyone has a good WD build and what to stack gear wise let me know

The damage drop is retarded. Was the attackspeed nerf to nerf the value of attack speed (since you can't really stack it that high anymore) or to nerf damage?

If they nerf attack speed they should atleast buff all current weapons that have attackspeed on them. I spend about 2m (i know its not alot) on a 1h weapon that has now become pure aids because the attack speed is pretty much gone and it dropped from 900 damage to like 750.

Besides that my first reaction was positive when playing my monk for a bit. I could actually survive grey mobs in act 2 (with 70% reduction from armor). But I also lost so much damage and attacks per second that it takes ages to get stuff down and I get less life from LoH since i attack twice as slow. I also cant keep my spirit topped off with mantra spamming because I just don't get enough spirit back. Its not enjoyable to play at all. Besides that the second elite pack I came across still trashed me hitting me for 7k (x3 since it was 3 of them) on 40k hp with the 70%.

On my demonhunter I lost about 15k dps and on my wizard about 10k. Damage seemed to be the only way to deal with certain affixes.

Anyway I find it hard to enjoy this game past inferno act 1 because certain affixes are impossible to deal with and pure damage seems to be the only way to deal with this. Now that my damage has gone down so much it's rather impossible to kill most elites. On my wizard all I can do is kite with hydra up, against teleporters / wallers / fast and probably some others that I can't come up with right now, I will still die about 8 times before I can get something down (so i make 0 gold anymore because of the repairbills).

[edit]
Also maybe this just proves this game is not for me but I really don't like farming, which is what this game is all about. Doing the same boring shit over and over again just seems like a waste of my life. It's not fun nor is it worth it 95% of the time, and against some elite/affixes it's downright frustrating. For me a game should be enjoyable and being able to bot to gear up a bit was the only way to keep this game enjoyable. When this game was released I played about 16 hours straight with a friend and we had the time of our lives but once you get to inferno act 2 it becomes frustrating rather than fun. My friend basicly quit already and without being able to bot I will probably follow very soon.

What kept me 'playing' was turning my bot on and coming back to see a proper legendary in my back and some gold.

tl;dr A game solely based on farming (without being able to bot) is a pure waste of time and the changes to attack speed made it even worse.

Only thing I like about the patch is the 5th mob I killed dropped a legendary that sold for 6 bucks on the RMAH. ($5 dollars towards world domination)

I think the nerf is way to early. Ruins the game.

I cut and paste from the D3 forum that I just saw right now and thought I'd like to share (not sure am I breaking any rules in this forum so sorry in advance) - It was copied from Visual Evidence That Diablo is Rapidly Dying - Forums - Diablo III

This is a screenshot taken tonight from XFIRE, a website that tracks what games people play and for how long. This is Diablo's graph. I think it's fair to say no explanation is necessary.

i think they wanted to nerf IAS because there was no way to play without IAS. Without IAS Life on Hit is not that important anymore too but i think Blizz said they want to make Lifleech stronger. Have they done so? Maybe they didnt want the players to be restricted in gear or so.....
