Hey guys,

I have a macbook that i use to bot with when im playing my main on my desktop. When im away, i bot on my desktop.

The problem is the macbook is kinda slow and it struggles to handle 3 clients at the same time.

Specs of Macbook
- Core 2 Duo P8699 @ 2.4GHz
- 2 GB Ram
- Nvidia Geforce 320M

So im thinking of either giving it more RAM (8GB?) or shift all my botting to my desktop.

i understand the risk of botting but just wish to ask if its risky to have my bots running in the background while i play with my main on the same PC? Is it advisable ?

Im pretty much mentally prepared for my bot accounts to be banned someday (touch wood) but not for my main.

Any advice?

Personally I would never do this, but alot says on these boards and other places, blizzard only ban accounts that got caught 'in flagranti'.

I wouldn't do it.

I don't want to risk my account in any way I can while still botting. I don't even visit gold sites/bot sites with it.

Also you never know, Demonbuddy could log your password and hack you (technically they can) Eventhough it's unlikely it's POSSIBLE. Always be prepared I say.

Though I'd love to run it on my fast pc with my main account.

What you guys are saying is a bit tinfoil hat. I mean to each his own, I'm certainly not knocking it. But Warden itself only scans for memory and hooks. You can look at whatever you want. I've done it for years, back when it was wow-glider and not mmo-glider. No bans.

But again, to each his own. I just wouldn't put that foil hat in the microwave.

Buzzard has already publicly stated they endorse and support multi boxing. hence you can run 200 accounts from your same pc same ip..and they are all happy for you. Macro's are another story ..they support mice and keyboards macro's attended. But they are against afk macro;s......talk about half yes half no.

and the question for you is, what is risky in your mind? what is it your referring to risky?

is it that buzzard will know you have other accounts? if so, don't worry...they already know.....by your ip...and more so.... the moment you move 1 piece of gold form acct A to acct B...they know.....the moment you use your A account to help boost level of B account..they know.

if your worried about your main getting hacked, get a true authenticator from buzzard, best 6.50 you will ever spend.

Do u have any links to that? Im using a MF gear swap macro and it freaks the hell out of my elder bro when i do it on his account LOL. Maybe i can calm his nerves alittle with some links to show him.

Yea multiboxing is pretty much ok with Blizz as i did that on WoW and got an official reply from them stating its ok as long as its attended to BY A HUMAN. But Multiboxing with bots on all except 1 instance thats played by the player ... hmm thats totally different from just normal multiboxing.

Blue poster Belfaire explains Blizzard's stance on multiboxing

Multiboxing, the process of one person playing multiple characters on multiple accounts at one time, usually by the use of multiple computers (thus the term) and macros that can be activated on all accounts by the push of a single button, has most recently seen coverage here on WoW with our 2-man Karazhan report. The act of multiboxing is one that has been the subject of some debates, mostly centered around whether or not it violates the EULA. Those in favor of multiboxing can breathe easier today, as Blizzard poster Belfaire has stated in no uncertain terms that Blizzard has no problem with the practice in a post on the customer service forums.

In short, he says that the advantages of multiboxing are no different than the advantages offered by normal grouping. Since multiboxers can be damaged, feared and CC'd as easily as separate people playing separate accounts, and since they can't do anything the same amount of characters couldn't do when played by different people, there is no reason to consider it an unfair advantage in PvP or PvE. He also answers quite a few specific questions posed by thread starter and multiboxer Velath that clarify why Blizzard accepts Multiboxing and does not consider it an exploit or an unfair advantage.

For example, he clarifies that using one keyboard to trigger macros on multiple accounts is not exploiting, but using that same keyboard to make a Fireball spell go off whenever it is availible is. Switching between windows or boxes to issue commands? Not exploitation. Using a bot program to make those windows run automatically? Exploit. In short, just like with people running one account, automation of a character via a third party program is Illegal. Setting up shortcuts to use macros or using gaming mice or keyboards (such as those in Adam Holisky's recent series of articles)is legal, and something that has always been fine with Blizzard no matter how many accounts the person in question is playing.

I certainly applaud this stance by Blizzard, even if I don't quite see myself doing the whole multiple rig setup. Admittedly, I am somewhat biased, as back in my Everquest days, I was about the only member of my small guild that didn't multibox, and was always greatly appreciative when someone when bring out their tank and healer multibox team so we didn't have to worry about who was going to fill those roles. Either way, it looks like Multiboxing is here to stay. So the next time you curse that 5-box Elemental Shaman arena team that just Chain Lightning'd you into next week, just remember that you can't call them illegal. However, you can still thank your lucky stars that they weren't Restoration Druids.

multiboxing is just that multiboxing...nothing more or less.

In other words, if one thinks they sit a certain way and look a certain way... they will not get pulled over on the road by LE.....they are kidding themselves...one can only minimize the chances of a getting pulled over (ban)...no one can ever prevent it happening, nor does anyone promise it will not happen.

DB has anti warden ability, but each person has to make their own mind up what level of risk they are willing to take.

If one can not or will not take the risk, you need to play it safe and go 100% manual, nothing more safe then that.
