So I'm thinking of buying this, thought i'd trial it. Started a paladin, elwynn forest. After loading profile and crap, it crashes.
Attached is the log.

The problem probably is this: Error - Endscene hook failed: Could not find Device.

Hoowever, I've tried running it as an admin, I have NO antivirus installed, all windows security is disabled, i've even gone into msconfig and disabled the services. I only have Net Framework 3.5 installed too.

Halp?

IF you have no antivirus installed, that may be it... you might have a virus..

Or you could be lying and saying you don't have an antivirus, which would prevent hooks.

There are no developers on at this moment, so be patient and one will help you soon.

Please try re-extracting honorbuddy from the website again to a location and run it under administrator.

Make sure to load both profile and mesh, since your log says you didn't.
(You did but it kept crashing and resetting)

Lots of errors are happening, for it to be that bad I would assume you need to do another install, i've had a problem like this before.

Make sure that you are logged IN and on your character, before starting honorbuddy... not before the login.

Negative, had the same error.
Have attached new log.

And I definitely am not lying about the antivirus btw. I'll download one and do a quick scan.

Thanks for help

Do you have something else running thats using directx? Maybe something like pwnboxer, isboxer, or a full screen game or movie player on a second screen?

Looks like its failing to hook directx. I'd first try updating directx to the newest version. http://www.microsoft.com/directx

I'd suggest what he said. Also, make sure you're logged into WoW and your character before running it. Are you using any sort of interstitial layer between the OS and your hardware? (Running WINE on NIX or Bootcamp or anything of that nature?)

Also, make sure you have the latest release of .net installed (I think 3.5sp1 as of right now?)

I'm using freecap to run it, but the first thing I tried was disabling freecap. Nothing else is running, and DxDiag says im running DX11.

I'll try reinstalling .Net framework. Just running plain windows 7 too, nothing weird.

Definitely got a working 3.5 net framework, used the verify tool and everything. Just installed an antivirus, just doing a scan

Just cause it says directx 11 doesn't mean your running the newest version. Theres monthly updates to directx that are released via month names and not version.

Updated windows, installed antivirus, scanned, uninstalled, cleaned up, updated directx, made sure there was no security enabled, re-ran it, same as before.

NOTHING is working.
I have a friend across the room running the exact same setup, windows 7 64bit, similar system, same apps, same HB, working perfectly.

No idea why it's not working.

Hmph. You've got us stumped. I'll do some more research into the issue.

Alright, thanks for all your help. I'm going to continue attempting to make it work, I'll see how I go

some times verify tool gives you an "all good" report
but an unistallation and re-installation of .net solves the problem

Would it really solve a failure to hook to the device problem? I'm no expert in such things but isn't that a directx problem? The problem is, I have Windows 7, and therefore cannot actually uninstall NetFX3.5 as far as i know

you can uninstall it
there is a tool on our forum that can help you with uninstall

and yes you need the latest directx

The readme notes on the net framework cleanup tool state that it will not remove net frameworks that come as an OS component. E.G 3.5 from Windows 7. I've run it, selected all frameworks (windows 7) and run it, multiple times.

Also, I just ended every process I didn't need, as well as disabled things such as HydraVision (ATI's multiple display program) even though I didn't have multiple displays running I'd been playing with it. Even after disabling and ending everything that could possibly mess with it, it still didn't work.

I have the latest directx, and my net framework is SP1, latest possible version.
