This is my guide on making gold. It's simple, yet very effective. It is important you pay attention to the details though. This is my first guide. Tell me how it is
This part of the guide will show you a good way to set up your tabs. A good setup is the difference between searching for everything, or knowing where everything will be at all times.
.
.
This setup depends completely on how you work. I personally like to stockpile until I am full, then deal with all of my goods. You will be able to tell by my setup. Your setup may need to be different.
.
.
This part of the guide will go through the process, but not selling. It is broken up by activity.
.
.
Everyone's favorite part, payday. This part will teach you the way to sell, without getting targeted by bans. For those who don't know, if you post too many things on the AH, you can be banned.
.
.
Method One
.
Watch trade chat. Look for people spamming things like "WTB ------ in bulk! PST!" These are the people you're looking for. Add them, and check if they buy regularly, if they do, set up a deal with them, and offer discounts. If they need stuff, mail you, and you can COD it back to them. With enough buyers and varied things they buy, this can work well.
.
Method Two
.
Message guild masters (Raiding guilds being best) and extend an offer to them. You'll sell them all the mats they need, any time they need it, to every member, at a discount. It may take a while to find a guild that will buy in, but when they do, you'll rake in cash. This is my preferred method.
That's the end of the guide for now. I most likely will update it in the future with new methods. Again, this was my first guide. I'd love feedback. Don't get discouraged with this. It's a lot of work at first, but when you're finished and getting orders daily, you will make a ridiculous amount of gold. Thanks for reading guys.

Part one: Setup
This part of the guide will list off prerequisites or goals that you need to meet for maximum profit. It will be listed in needs, and optionalNeed
- One character at level 85, minimum. This toon will preferably be a druid, paladin, or death knight. This will be your farmer, with Herbalism and Mining, both maxed.
- One character at level 75, or higher. The class doesn't matter. This toon will have Jewelcrafting and Enchanting, with each at 500+.
- One character, the level does not matter, but it will need its own guild with at least 4 tabs. This will be your banker.
- A solid amount of money. I say 20k+, but it's up to you. I prefer to have money with start up, as you may need to buy things at times.
Optional
- Max flying on your farmer. *Recommended*
- A fourth toon at 75+ with Inscription and Alchemy(Alchemist needs to be a transmutation master). *Recommended*
- 6+ tabs on your banker.
- Max fishing on your farmer.
Part Two: Guild Bank Setup
This part of the guide will show you a good way to set up your tabs. A good setup is the difference between searching for everything, or knowing where everything will be at all times.
.
Four Tabs
- Misc/Chanting
- This is where you'll put your hypnotic dust, heavenly shards, maelstroms, and volatiles.
- Ore
- Self explanatory, you'll want to put your elementium and pyrite in here.
- Herbs
- Another self explanatory tab, put your herbs in here. If you have an alchemist, keep a stock of heartblossom. Always have some, do not sell all of it.
- Gems
- This tab will be the one you have to focus on most. It will be VERY easy to let it go, and get messy as hell. Don't, it will make life harder. My way of setting this tab up works like this.
.
I will say "rows" a lot in this section. By a row, I mean the vertical lines of seven spots going down in a tab, with a total of 14 tabs. Each tab has 98 spaces.
.
First row - [Inferno Ruby] The cash crop. This is where most of your cash from gems comes from
Second, third, and fourth row - [Carnelian], do not use or sell these if you have an alchemist. You'll transmute these. Otherwise, make them into [Carnelian Spikes].
Fifth row - [Ocean Sapphire] While these won't sell for much, you'll want to keep some of these around. Vendor any [Zephyrite] that you don't need.
From here on out, you will use two rows per gem color(i.e. Reds being[Carnelian] and [Inferno Ruby]) , with the first 4 in every row being rare gems, and the rest uncommon.
.
Sixth and seventh row - Yellow
Eighth and Ninth - Orange
Tenth and Eleventh - Green
Twelfth and Thirteenth - Purple
Fourteenth - Epic gems if you are going to work with those.
- This tab will be the one you have to focus on most. It will be VERY easy to let it go, and get messy as hell. Don't, it will make life harder. My way of setting this tab up works like this.
Six Tabs
.
This setup depends completely on how you work. I personally like to stockpile until I am full, then deal with all of my goods. You will be able to tell by my setup. Your setup may need to be different.
.
- Misc
- This is where I put my volatiles, and darkmoon cards, along with anything else that I may be able to sell in the future.
- Ore
- Herbs
- Fish
- Ah fish, another gold mine. There's three types of fish you will learn to love with all your heart. They are [Highland Guppy], [Fathom Eel], and [Lavascale Catfish]. These fish are used for feasts, and will bring in big bucks.
- Gems
- Check back in the "Four Tabs" section for what to do here.
- Enchanting
- Put your chanting mats in here.
.
Part Three: The Process
.This part of the guide will go through the process, but not selling. It is broken up by activity.
.
Gathering
.- Mining
You'll need to get elementium and pyrite. Obsidium is optional, but it's a rare occasion where you need it. Mine where ever you prefer, with private profiles if you know how to make them. - Herb
You'll need lots of stuff. The easiest way to put it, stock up on cata herbs, as people use them for flasks and potions mainly..
*Note* It's a good idea to mine and herb at the same time - Fishing
Refer to the Guild Bank section, Six Tabs, for which fish you need.
Crafting
.- Jewelcrafting
Prospect your Elementium and Pyrite (make sure you have a bit of stock of each in the bank). Vendor any [Zephyrite] you get. Mail all rare gems to your banker(if you have an alchemist, mail carnelians as well). Now, take your gems and make them into uncommon items. If your JC and Enchanter aren't the same toon, mail them to your chanter. - Enchanting
All the uncommons(and rares that you get from procs) are now going to get disenchanted. Mail the mats back to your banker. - Alchemy(if leveled)
Transmute carnelians into inferno rubies. - Inscription(if leveled)
Mill all extra herbs, then turn them into ink. Make Mysterious Fortune Cards with Blackfallow, and Darkmoon Cards with Inferno.
.
Part Four: Selling
.Everyone's favorite part, payday. This part will teach you the way to sell, without getting targeted by bans. For those who don't know, if you post too many things on the AH, you can be banned.
.
Finding Your Buyers
There are two ways that I use to get buyers. Both work well. Choose your favorite, or use both. It's your choice..
Method One
.
Watch trade chat. Look for people spamming things like "WTB ------ in bulk! PST!" These are the people you're looking for. Add them, and check if they buy regularly, if they do, set up a deal with them, and offer discounts. If they need stuff, mail you, and you can COD it back to them.
