dude ur wrong u can buy fpg cards but like 500-600$ and each get 300-400m/hsUnless you got a super rig, with like 4 ATI card's past the 5xxx's and the money to electricity.
This isn't even worth it.
You can get a virus doing any thing. Its the internet.
You dont even have to be on the internet.....muhaha
As the titles says, is bitcoin mining dangerous in any way?
Can it give other people acces to your computer, give you viruses etc?
I just wanna know if there's any risks with it except the electricity bill.
holy shit, looks like you built a time machine! how much was the rig if you don't mind me asking?1. bitcoin mining itself is not dangerous.
2. No, bitcoin mining can not give your computer a virus. However since bitcoins have value if people know you have them it makes you a valuable target for more convential attacks such as phishing, key loggers, ect to try and gain access to your machine.
3. Bitcoins are a anonymous method of exchanging value via a peer to peer network. The risks are multiple, but are the same as with any type of currency trading. (I. E. You bought high and sold low, you paid cash for a worthless product, you spent more making the coins than they are worth, ect.)
Having said that, bitcoin mining can be quite profitable if your have done your homework and have proper equipment.
With current market conditions I produce about $667.83 dollars of value in bitcoins per month, which costs me approximately $253.99 in electricity for a profit of $413.84 per month. These figures change based on a number of factors: bitcoin generation difficulty, electrical rates, current bitcoin to dollar exchange rates, ect. There are plenty of ways to fail to handle any of those factors and kill your profit.
Having said that, I have a fairly large mining rig. I am currently hashing at 6.8GH/s. The rig to do this has ten 5870's GPUs, and a handful of other 69xx and 5xxx series cards. This represents a large investment in hardware and time. The hardware has long since paid for itself, and produces a profit for me each month, and I own the hardware which has value and paid for itself.
I go by same nick in the official bitcointalk forums. If you follow the forums you may have read the guide I made on constructing open frame cases for mining rigs.

You'll spend more on your electricity bill than you would if you just bought HB.
Unless you got a super rig, with like 4 ATI card's past the 5xxx's and the money to electricity.
This isn't even worth it.
Unless you own solar powerplant![]()
