Possibly porting over my Gatherbot - No waypoints needed Thoughts?

hey guys,

i have been coding my WoWGather bot for some time now,
and am thinking of converting it to honorbuddy framework?

What it does?
same as gatherbot, just i guess more advanced?

  • No Waypoints needed - Generates its own using the fastest route!
  • A Global Node database
  • A 2D Map - Can blacklist a node by clicking on the map, find a nodes X Y Z - Info by hovering over, Whatever you wish!
  • A Multi-Zone Gather
Etc...

This is in its early stages of development of my own bot i was coding ( nothing to do with honorbuddy )

- Black Nodes = underground / blacklisted / in water - no good nodes
- Red node = mineral
- green = herb

colours are really plain.. but was planning to change it

Thoughts?
 
Is the gatherbot working as it is now?
Cause in all honesty, i'd like to try something that doesn't use same route all the time
 
You could work on a Database/Support for GB2.
That'd be sweet.
 
It would have to be completely different just because the core would be diffrent,
Also I would put alot more effort into it. As well as the 2d map and the waypoint generating system

And you could change the way it goes by changing the settings (max generations) or by even blacklisting a single node

The limit is basically endless.

Ill do it as long as I know I'll have people behind it, if not I'll keep it stand alone and private still

i might first convert my 2D Map over, as well as the waypoint generating system so people can generate some nice waypoints, then keep going to a gatherbot?

This would be fucking great, the ability to export the waypoints in a fully formatted xml profile with vendors etc would also be nice. I love the 2D Map/blacklisting GUI idea.
 
good idea moods, ive started to create it now. i should have something by end of weekend.
 
I'd say start off with a Map/Profile Editor/Generator.
That's one of the things this community is really lacking.

Then after that add in so that it can generate and run all automated.
It'd be sexy.
 
yep thats my plans atm, im hoping to have a quick release around sunday night so people can get a feel??
or i might keep it private untill its really working good and i have most implimented ? then release?

EDIT: i'd release as soon as it becomes somewhat useable. and update keep updates coming :P - that way the community will (which i am sure of) help by testing and reporting :)

Love the idea. Have a few suggestions but have to go to work atm will edit this post later.
 
so i ended up getting a new char after that banwave so i will be keeping to developing this.
looks like theres no chance at all of getting it back..

i had to laugh tho at the complaints i was making.

and by sunday have it released. if not by tommorow. it will be basic for now and updated.

suggestions guys?
im gunna look into nodes / and even close vendors as well as mail box's.
full XML export.

Could also be a dangerous one because of the z axis? I've seen nodes 'on top' of eachother, 1 underground and one on the hill above it.

You might use something like the gathermate2 database files for all nodes. Filter out the fishing spots, treasure chests etc and just leave the herb and mining nodes. That way you have a global database to work from (+ it gets updates regularly). At least it was my understanding that you wanted a global database to gather from?

Further than that it sounds very interesting.

I'm Going to stick to my database for now because I do want the z value and to be able to control the blacklist from my end. Also the chances of 2 nodes Sharing the same X Y float would be very slim and would be best to not even fly near the nodes we carnt gather? If we are able to and this will be detected by the code implemented then it will be on the waypoint system.

A custom class to read from dbc
And started designing the form,
Background image is done - but wanting to improve

Tommorow ( it's 2 am here, bed time )
I'll implement the node system.


Also I'm going to request every one to use a plugin I'm going to make tommorow to
It will help add more nodes to my database. :), just use it when your running gather bot or exploring
