Hi guys,
I've been using party bot a lot lately, and have been working on a plugin to sit over the top of it for the purposes of flying and group questing. I'm not happy with what I can achieve with the plugin, because there's some core things in party bot that don't seem to work for me.

If possible, I would like to get my hands on the source for party bot, as I'm not the most experienced coder in the world and I would like to see how some things are done. So that is request 1, could you put party bot, and the leader plugin as .cs files in the appropriate folder for the next release?

If that isn't possible, I have some other requests;
1. Could you open up the remoting server to allow connection to a specific IP for the party bot clients, I.E. so followers can be run on seperate computers within a home network.
2. Could you disable the use of the in built wow follow function. Quite often it screws up mounting due to the fact that it moves if the leader does, interupting the mount cast.
3. Could you make it possible within the API to add new message types for the remoting server - I.E. passing quest information between leader and follower, and weather flying or ground mount is being cast by leader.

The only reason I'm requesting the source is because it seems to me that development for party bot has pretty much stopped, if this isn't the case, then please disregard.

Thanks for considering this.

1.Wont happen anytime soon, for such a small feature it would take much longer to develop then would be worth it.
2.it should wait for the entire party to be mounted before moving, is that not the case?
3.even if api was added, the current quest bot isnt built for multiple bots, and the profiles themselves arent written for more then one bot to run them at once. to script something like that, say like a vehicle quest, scripting out 5 bots would be insane, there's no logical way, at least in my mind to get all that to happen at once and still get everything to work as it should.

i know people want RAF questing, but for a bot its just not going to be possible.

btw Making a thread like you did is against forum rules.

? No topics titled "Bossland take a look here","Hawker i have a big problem" etch.

Because of that, Thread Closed.

I'm not concerned about the quest bot - the way I currently use party bot is hand playing the leader, and having the followers working with me. It's working with the plugin I have, but it's clunky, and often the plugin fights with the party bot over which mount to use (I have the plugin flying), and weather it should loot the quest item it has identified, or follow the leader.

If the leader is being hand played, then it's quite easy to accidentally move when the party bot is attempting to mount, and has wow's inbuilt follow active. As far as I can see, there is no reason to use the inbuilt follow function, so just comment it and move on.

Further - if party bot was made as a .cs file, with the leader plugin, then the devs could effectively wash their hands of it, and let the community develop what it wants. I'm more than willing to try to get it working the way I want, then post the result for others to use. It's not like I haven't posted anything to the forums in the past, and I would like to do it again.

you could make your won botbase, and do whatever you wanted to. ive tried writing a "party" solution before but didnt get very far. anyone can write a botbase.

Exactly - I haven't got very far either, hence why I'm asking.

Kick - nothing in PM's yet.

Or, someone could give him the party bot source so he has something to go by.

"I'm not the most experienced coder in the world and I would like to see how some things are done"

You may have no read that. Coding an entire bot base may be out of his grasp.

He is doing everyone a favor here, its win win for everyone. I would jump on this deal if I were the owner. Someone is going to work for you on something a lot of people want for FREE

Just my opinion though...

im not the person who developed it, but IMO if your going to do something you might as well do it all yourself so no one can take it from you, and no one else gets the credit for your accomplishments.

ill ask, but chances are it wont be made public, but what might happen is having who ever is in charge of it, (probably apoc, or raphus) and release the source only to the OP, thats IF they wanna let you have it.

Yeah I was pretty sure of that, and that is why I said "someone." I did not mean to offend you or sound rash, I am just busy doing multiple things right now and I got rushed :)

Thanks for replies! And I wish you luck pbettell!

It would be great if we could have this community as open source as possible. I cannot imagine there is even one in here that would want to take credit for someone else's (great) work as the botbase you are referring to! But anyway it is the author's right to so what she wants :)

obviously we cant distribute honorbuddy with someone elses project in it. what comes with the bot comes with the bot, because they are projects we control, and we can support and take care of, we cant keep waiting on 3rd party developers to send us the latest build of there stuff, just to include it with the bot. not only that, but what if the developer goes rouge one day and we distribute a keylogger with that developers project, its our fault because we cant sit and verify the source with every version, theres just not enough time to do it.
