Why can I not select a custom flying mount when doing most anything in bots?

Everytime I use archeology bot, or even questing bot, can i not select the flying mount I want to use? It always selects the bronze drake. If I use settings and tools, and put a mount name in there, it hardly ever uses it, and when it does, it only uses it for ground mount. Nothing says I'm a bot like when I mount on a winged guardian and never leave the ground. come on guys. There should be a selection in settings and tools for ground mount and one for flying. What do you think devs?

its easy if you ready the wiki, but you can also select your mount

How do select the mount? When I type it in the Mount box under settings and tools, it just uses that mount as a ground mount (sometimes)

you can write the mount name or the mount id(you can find it on wowhead)

Make sure you uncheck "automatic" and "random" if you want it to use a specific mount. Those settings override the name of the mount in the text box.

Still should simply have 3 check boxes only, pick a mount to fly with, pick a ground mount for everything else and when you can't fly, pick an underwater mount and HB just uses those. Random for those who want to get their e-peen out.

This is EXACTLY what I was saying.

I dont understand why it has to be so hard. And no matter what I have checked or unchecked, or even typed in the box. It still uses the Bronze drake for flying.

Yes, the mount picking system is so much harder than it needs to be (and it is something that needs to be reconfigured with every update), KISS principle needs to be applied IMHO.

So you're saying there shouldn't be anything at all and HB should always use Automatic/Random. That's the KISSest solution.

No, pick flying, pick ground, pick underwater, done. Maybe not KISS, but simpler and more straightforward than it is now. The fishing pluging is smart enough to have a dropdown to pick mounts that you have, maybe the HB core should too.

So what do i use as the ground mount? You are telling me that I can only use the same mount for flying and ground? thats just stupid. Where is the setting that picks the bronze drake??

Type Bronze Drake in the box. Obviously if you are using a profile that doesn't support flying mounts it sometimes picks a ground mount, or your bronze drake walks, although I mainly see gryphons walking in battlegrounds because HB is not configured correctly.

I mean, why does it default to the Bronze Drake. I want a separate ground mount for ground movement and winged guardian for flight

And that about the gryphons is exactly what i dont want!

Sorry, not at home now to check. It works sometimes, it doesn't other, one of the easiest things to get right I figure but has never worked properly for me. If you have the headless horseman's mount this doesn't look as bad because it can be both.

More straightforward? There's nothing more straightforward then telling HB "Hey, just do it yourself m'kay!?"

Mine are all on auto and the only times they pick flyers where they can't fly is in BGs. And to be honest; the flying carpet looks awesome there.

The process could be alot easier. Period. I dont want auto. If it is on auto, it picks the Bronze Drake. EVERYTIME. Now, go to another thread to boost your post count instead of trolling mine.

Auto simply picks the first mount that fits the context its using it in. (If it needs to fly, it picks the first flying mount it finds, if it just needs a ground mount, it picks the first one it finds for ground... again)

Tick Random, and it'll use a different mount each time depending on context. (Mine constantly switches between TLPD, old mounts, the alch mount (which HB has some issues with sometimes) and others)

Untick both, and put in a mount name. It'll only ever use that mount. (I believe AB/GB2 will override your mount selection if you set it to a ground mount though, don't take my word on that)

If you want EASY then you DO want auto but you want a different behaviour for auto.
If you want it to be fully configurable then stop asking for EASY, STRAIGHTFORWARD or KISS.

I'm not trolling, I'm trying to get a decent answer to what it is people want. Because at the moment, as usual, you guys haven't got a clue what you want. Even the best developers won't be able to help you unless and until you know what you want.

So what do you want?
Do you want EASY? 'cause then the solution would be to ONLY have auto but have auto behave a bit more intelligent.
or
Do you want FULLY CONFIGURABLE?

Apoc;
Not entirely true mate. BGBot will choose a flying mount even though it'll be unable to fly. I think that's what the people are talking about.

Because you can use flying mounts as ground mounts :)
