Login issues, "Authentication failed" Encryption issues?

Still having an issue logging in.

The little text window says,

Logging in...
Authentication failed!

I've checked login information multiple times, as well as completely uninstalled and reinstalled three times. The post says at the top of this page to delete something in the setting folder. I do not have a settings folder in my buddy folder.

Anyone offer some advice?

if you haven't tried re-typing in your password, try that, there was something with latest version that broke encryption.

i sometimes get it to take 2-3 tries to finally authenticate..sometimes i just have to close hb for a few minutes and then it'll go.
it's weird..since i usually use 2 or all 3 of my keys..and some would log in just fine, and others refuse to log in....

they'll tell you it's a firewall issue...


edit:
also, supposedly if you've bought the bot recently-ish, you now put the key into the username field and leave the password blank, i guess instead of using your forum info.

hey there i had the same problem too for 5 hours , this is what i did , i restarted router ( got different ip address ) and tried it , i took about 8 secs then i logged in

try to restart ur router/change ip if you can

something is blocking your Hb

add exceptions on your firewall and your antivirus

there's only a couple of reasons why it's not logging in ...

1) your firewall / anti-virus
2) user entered wrong username / pw
3) settings folder from old 5104 (or below) was copy / pasted into 'new' hb

easiest way to fix your issue:
1) fresh hb install (don't copy / paste anything over); I don't know if you copy / pasted settings folder over
2) login

if you still get a login error, then you must fix your firewall / antivirus issue and let HB through
