Diablo 3's Auction House will feature two currencies, the first one will be in-game gold and the 2nd one will be real life money. Yep, you read it right, Diablo 3 will let you buy items with either gold or real life money! It's also worth noting that you will also be able to sell loot for money, and transfer that money outside the game. I guess gold farming just got interesting.

Thoughts? Will HB launch a bot for Diablo aswell?

I have a hard time believing this is legit.

I'm pretty sure it is. MMO-Champion is trustworthy.

Wonder how this will effect WoW subs and the gold market in WoW

I hope loads of botters transfer to diablo so the gold prices go up again :)

Blizzards way of taking a piece of the cake. As for Blizzard as a business this is clearly the way to go, as gold selling is a million dollar market.

Cant wait to get a D3 bot rolling, too bad the guys behind d2jsp went legitt. d3jsp would rock ;)

Sounds legit.
This is madness..

I can only assume this means their anti-bot team is gonna be in full force for this one.

Or not since you have to pay a fee for listing the items. pay a fee when you actually sell it AND paying a fee when you want to cash out. Still can be profitable but.. well I guess one way or another blizzard is making money out of it.

If true, that means we don't have to use chinese gold buyers, cause we can BOT and turn the in game gold to real life gold with no middle man!!!

This is gona kill D3, if i was a legit player there is no way you can compete with botters on D3 now, because blizzard will have hard time banning them now. So a year after D3 release, the whole game will be botters(sellers) and no buyers.

I would be glad if the buddy team decided to make a Diablo III bot.

A good question for this though is say I was botting and throughout a few weeks I earned $200 from selling for money on the Auction House, but then I get banned with that money still in my account. Do I forfeit all that money back to Blizzard and they basically just profited $200 off me botting or will that money get cashed out automatically to my bank account. Knowing Blizzard I bet they confiscate any money tied to a Banned account which means they profit for banning rather than just some in game gold getting taken. If they stay on people abusing their system this could turn into a money maker for them just by banning people breaking TOS.

pretty much 100% this.
If you have money in your account and do something bad, bye bye.

The only way it will be lucrative is if the bots stay private. Think about it - supply and demand economics.

Edit: Correction - I guess "lucrative" really depends on the person. To some people, $100 is alot of money.

Well, as it is now, they haven't been banning battle.net accounts themselves, just the individual wow account that incurred the infraction. It would be reasonable to believe that this system will continue, and if they ban a D3 acct, the battlenet account associated with it would remain as is. But they can change it anytime they want.

and u know economics?
maybe wow in the first year was as u say,now everyone knows where to buy gold from...u phd u

Hypocrite alert: i really dont want this to happen in my opinion this would kill diablo, think about it. Private games+Diablo bot=no player reports. And yes this will be great for awhile but after a bot becomes idiot proof and public then this will kill the game. I was looking forward to diablo 3, no well i don't think im going to play...

Blizzard will probably have a 2month hold on all monetary money, before releasing it to your paypal account. Within those two months, if they ban you all that real world money goes back to blizzard and they'll send you a 'thank you' letter for botting for them.
