Thoughts on why I got flagged:
First of all, over 12 hours a day logged in and running. To be honest though, I don't think that was a fundamental factor in why I got banned. I went on a WoW streak once, where I played everyday for 12+ hours (US Account) and this went on for about 3 months straight. No joke. Nothing ever happened.

If anything, the fact that HB was running 12+ hours a day is supplemental evidence at best.

Here are the reasons I think broke the camels back:

1. Number of creatures killed in x amount of time. *Cough, cough* Grinding *cough, cough*

Now you may say "wait a minute dude, you weren't using a grinding profile." No I was not, but I've been meticulously reporting errors with the profile into the forum. Looking through the errors I've encountered with the profile, a re-occuring issue that I was experiencing was with gathering quests, where the bot was not gathering quest items and so as a result would spend significant amounts of time killing the same mobs, over and over and over in the same area for hours.

Of course the issue I was having has been resolved, I didn't how Auto-loot turned on in Wow-interface. In my opinion, this shows that even questing profiles that employ a little bit of grinding can get you banned. I truly believe, that the number of mobs killed was a deciding factor.

Not only the number of mobs, but the number of mobs in X amount of time, and from where those mobs are.

Reviewing statistics of legit leveled chars and the toon I've been botting, there isn't much you can tell from total kill counts. The bot and my legit toons have very similar kill counts and the bots kill total is not completely unbelievable, though this topic needs to be revisited when the toons are the same level.

I think in some cases, here's how a player is auto-flagged:

Code:
Mob XXX
Killed ### amount of times
Mob XXX K.P.H.
First XXX Mob Killed: ##:##
Last XXX Mob Killed: ##:##

Something got you, I've been leveling a 50 paladin on that profile over 20 hours a day and no suspension there, and before that I did a different paladin. Not sure what got you though. Then again you're on EU, I'm US. Who knows, lot of EU suspensions today.

lol, like i already said my in game time was supplemental evidence at best.

we had our server maintenance today. The bot was logged on when the servers went down at 5am and logged right back in at 11am when they came back.

Here's the wierd part from 11am to 3pm the bot virtually did nothing. It completed just a handful of quests and then got stuck for over 2 hours trying to get to Winterspring from Swamp of Sorrows.

Finally I turned HB off and decided to walk the bot to Winterspring manually. I was moving through Felwood and that's when I got the ban.

Hahahahahaha, I just got the Irony! Here i've been running this bot for near 24/7 and I recieve my ban when I am actually and legitely playing the bot.

This is interesting informatin however: I was legitely playing and the bot really didn't do anything "bot like" after the servers came back online.

That would lead me to speculate that my ban was a delayed ban, and was based on evidence gathered over a period of several days.

As i said, i had some issues with the profiles where the bot actually grinded mobs because it wasn't looting them. That might have been it.

Yea they seem to do their ban in waves unless you trade huge amounts of gold. They did a couple bans on me last week at server maintenance also, sorry to hear your bad luck, but at least its a suspension. It is irony, a month back I was leveling 4 vanilla's on lowhanging fruit, and I did questing for about 6 hours one day, logged off for about 10 hours and received an email that I was using third party hacks. I simply petitioned saying I was curious to know how they think I was using third party hacks while offline, it was reversed.

Did you get your gametime via recruit a friend? because I got banned too, and I think its because of this. I have no clue actually.

Omg no bad luck at all. I called and it got overturned in 10min. My feeling is my account was flagged for low suspicious activity (KPH history, time logged in, etc.) and really it was a shot in the dark and they got lucky. they don't know that though. :p

No, based on personal experience, I do not believe the bot has actually done anything that would constitute as substantial evidence for botting.

Like i said, i use to be one of those guys who logged in for 12+ hours a day (US account.) I never got shit.

Nope. It was 1 month free included time. I doubt you got banned because of how game time was put on your account. That might be the cause of a multi-account ban becuase of the link between the accounts, but for a single liscense of wow to get banned for this reason is not plausible imo.

its easy to get it unbanned.. tried it on same account in two days =D just claim they are lyin.... anyway be carefull if ur grinding... and dont flag the vendor or mail option... they would activate the ban robot for sure.. NO DOUBT!!!

tried it on a lvl 30 toon and it worked =) got it unbanned aswell fast...

btw! dont bot for more like 6 -8 hours.. just a good advice

sounds like you got stuck and reported

A delayed ban for a stuck report? I doubt it. what if I just hit autorun, went afk, shot up, passed out and never came back. Wouldn't that look like a bot getting "stuck?"

for people that dont realize this yet, blizz gathers evidence over a period of time, i got about 5-6 accs banned over my wow carreer, and i can say that, i had a rogue i pvp botted on alot to get full bloodthirsty a while ago, i botted 24/7 for 3-4 weeks, then arena'd myself for 1-2 weeks with no botting, wich after that i got banned, so they do indeed gather information about your account and how you play it, and also they take into account player reports, i babysitted my warrior alot lately and noticed alot of people calling me out in BG chat asking ppl to report me for being a bot, if i wasnt there to say "wtf u talking about u idiot, im not a bot" i probably would have gotten banned.

anyways,
blizz checks accounts that get flagged,
they gather evidence to make sure your a bot
they wait to ban you
then they ban ppl in waves so they can ban the most people at the same time before companys like honorbuddy have time to update the bot. and probably other reasons too.

the amount of time you spend on your account is irrelevant to blizzard unless its really excessive like 24 hours a day for more than a week. you could be surprised the amount of time legit players put into this game.
so in my opinion there is 2 factors that can get you banned :
Stagnate into the same zone doing a monotone task that no human being could do for more than 2-3 hours at a time, doing grinding/gathering or something for 20+ hours then get a player report
or get stuck at the wrong place and get reported by players....
so yeah. 90% of the time player reports get you

I find it very hard to believe that Blizzard takes user reports seriously at all. I've read stories of botters, reporting themselves for botting and nothing ever happens.

Not only that, but I know people who have reported people for botting, just cuz the guy got to the node before they did.

"THAT FUCKIN DRUID AGAIN! There he is again, swooping in outta nowhere stealin erbs from meh!"

"Dude, you sure it's the same guy?"

"Course I'm fuckin sure, I'm reporting this craggot!! He's a botter for sure."

I mean really, that's all it takes. I mean, I know I've given some unusual examples but these scenarios are not all that unlikely. I've reported people just for being rude or swearing.

Player reports are probably not even read unless there's actual suspicion.
