HB GUI Issue

Hi all!
Did some searches and came up blank. On a couple of my CC's (made by different people and used to work), when I go to configure them and I click on the configuration button, I get a message that says the .config file doesn't have a program associated to it.
Does anyone know what .dll or file I need to associate .config with? I went into the file types on my OS, and .config isn't even recognized. I can add it if needed, but would still need to know what to associate it to.

The Custom Classes I am trying to get the configuration window up on:
ShamWOW (comes bundled with HB)
Convalesce 4.1 Beta 2
Both these CC's have a config window that used to pop up.

TL;DR - CC Won't open configuration window. Tells me that .config file isn't associated to anything.

Thanks

try a repair on your net framework

No joy.
I followed the instructions here: Buddy products: Installing the .NET 3.5 Framework - Buddy Wiki
and did a complete re-installation of .net 3.5 sp1. Same issue. I took a chance and associated the .config file type to the honorbuddy executable and created a whole new problem for myself.

Would someone please go look at their file type associations and tell me what it's associated to?

Thank you very much!!

have you checked the release threads for the CC's to see if theres an update?

I am running the latest versions of both CC's. Good thinking though! So, I've spent a considerable amount of time on this and I'm 99% sure it's a .net issue like Tony said before. I have no doubt that reinstalling my OS would fix the issue, but I'm not willing to go there yet. I've screwed myself by associating .config files to an executable that it shouldn't be associated with and reinstalling .net (I've done that twice now) didn't fix the broken association.
Here's what I'm after:
For those of you running XP, open up explorer to any directory, go to 'Tools' and then 'Folder Options'. Click on the 'File Types' tab and look to see what .config is associated to (it's probably a .dll file).
Or, if on a different OS or you want to check it this way, go to Honorbuddy_2.0.0.4982\CustomClasses\Config and you will find a .config file in the folder (if you've run ShamWOW). Right click on the file and go to proprties - on the main tab it should tell you what it opens with.
If you can see what the path is to the file, that would be great too.

Thanks again

I figured it out!!
I deleted all file associations to .config (system wide). This allowed it to go back to it's default setting. WOOT!!

Thanks for the help all!

if you could elaborate some more i know more then just you had this issue. so any more information you can provide will help others.

OK, I'm recreating the issue so that I can get simple instructions ( I tried so many things it's hard to know). I'll give details instructions as soon as I figure out the most direct path to resolution.

you dont need to break it to fix it again, but just more detail would be fine.
