Thinking of switching bots

I'm currently using Pirox's bot for gathering, but I'm not a fan of many things that Pirox is doing with his bot and support. I have a few questions for people that have either used both bots or have an in-depth knowledge of how each bot functions.

1. What are the key differences in how each bot functions? My understanding has been that Pirox's bot uses more keystrokes rather than injecting in the code.

2. Does injecting into the code actually make it easier for Blizzard to catch us?

3. All I care to do is gather herbs/ore with the bot, which GB bot should i get?

All i can say is HB didn't get caught as Pirox did, soo for me it's safer.

HB requires little to no effort to setup, I've tried Pirox myself and I find it awful, though it's potentially safer, it sucks.
It was good back in the day, but now it has been beat, the code has gone more sloppy.

Lifetime would be my option for pure gathering, as you get GB2 inside of honorbuddy, it saves the setting up of macro's, fights properly and doesn't ress at the spirit healer.
Or you could go with the option of Honorbuddy single for a year and pay for the paid plugin key monthly.

@Kiyumi The issue with Pirox's arch bot (which is what got everyone banned) is one of the reasons that I'm considering switching bots. Spamming chat to find the arch locations was just ignorant. I'm concerned that he'll do something else just as ignorant when he meets his next hurdle that his coding is too outdated to manage. P.S. Cute avatar. That's my favorite kind of woman. Mute. jk.

Best thing you could do to try HB, was to download it and try the trail (works from lvl 1-20). You will get pretty amazed I tried priox and stopped again. Never gonna go there again. HB seems much more "clever". If you like the priox way with the keystrokes, i think Gatherbuddy 1 works abit that way?? But honorbuddy pwns everything

My first botted toon was with Pirox, the board is usually German as here if you are from the US, mostly english, which is a huge help. Also A TON of the Profiles with pirox are also in another language.

You have to set up SO MUCH DAMN STUFF, to get it to work it makes me sick, and if you dont set up one tiny thing right...... it doesnt work.

HB is 10x faster than pirox is leveling up. There are none that I could find, profiles that do quests for you. Its all just grind grind grind. Which in my book, sucks.

HB in the end, my opinion beats the hell out of pirox 99% of the time.

I like HB on leveling, I do gathering on both HB and Pirox, tho HB would still beat, the only thing i use pirox on is Instance leveling, as I've made instance profiles myself since Instance Buddy has yet to be fixed for over 4-5 months now. Other than that, depends on what you want to do.

HB and GB are superior to Pirox. You can add so much to it and make it perfect yourself. I'm thankful that the community has the opportunity to pitch in.

HB FTW thats what i think if anyone cares if you are going to use it for gathering or maby gather buddy (havent used it for ages so i dont relay dont now how good it works now days). But to be honest, HB need a pretty decent Overhaul of Instance buddy and PVP, but I will not complain I know that the HB team works hard and I'm sure there will be solutions to the small problems that HB Actually have. Over all it`s a basically stable and user-friendly bot that reigns in the land that we call WoW

Hb its not passive
but a non passive bot doesnt mean that is an "easy to find" bot if you know how to do it(and we know)

you need Hb and you will use the Gb2 mode of Hb
in order to use flying mounts on Hb there are 2 options

1)Be Lifetimer
or
2)you must be a paid flying plugin key owner(more info here http://www.thebuddyforum.com/content/28-introducing-explaining-paid-plugin-keys.html)+Hb(1 year)owner

Dunno how Pirox support was, but the devs/mods are very active here and you can get help very quickly from them or the rest of the community.

I've been using HB/GB for over a year without any ban and even a 72 hour ban or anything of the sort. They have great protection on the program side. Most bans you will see are from user stupidity.

Hb is very easy to setup (especially if you're a noob), but it lacks of some "watchdog" mechanics that pirox has: a programmable botstarter, a relogger, an ass-saving procedure for when your toon remains stuck in some place around the world, an automatic profile switcher. But the "pluses" of HB among pirox make you forget about these little problems.

You can always give wow-robot a try. It's suppose to be a really good bot. I bought this before trying it out. It has a 30 min trial that you can keep using over and over. The coder is extremely active on his forums and mmowned.

I'm actually thinking of switching bots to pirox as well. even though i have 5 lifetime subscriptions.

My number one reason for it, is the lack of an official relogger made by the dev team.
Be it built-in or stand alone.
I run multiple accounts, whenever there is a change in HB that affects the only working relogger around (made by a community member), i'm stuck with doing the whole thing manually.

Erenion's relogger never saw the light.
It's been months since it was announced. and we don't even know it's current status.
Could've been canceled for all i know.

So yeah, that's my biggest source of annoyance right now with HB.

lol, i used MrFishIt in Dalaran (and not only there) on almost all toons (like 10 or so) and never got caught Also never got banned with HB/GB and hell i used it a lot over the last 18 month. The lifetime membership was the best thing to get, really.
