I understand that a previous update caused many accounts using the pokefarmer service to become flaged for bans.
I also understand that the devs report that issue to be fixed in the current version.
What i would like to know is as follows;

Is it really fixed and safe to use currently?
Can we expect this to be a re-occurring issue?
What exactly was it that caused this in the first place?

I appreciate anyone who can answer these questions with accuracy and confidence.

Thanks, Sam.

l guess no one really knows. l am afraid l got at least one account flagged due to 3 captchas in a row but no one knows what parameters niantic sets for capturing botters. Still botting with the probably flagged account til l know more. Next time forced update its best to stay low for a couple of days or even a week depending on account level you have. <20 seems like no brainer but higher levels its just sad to lose it.

So, in other words based on some info from other posts,if your account got some captchas before the niantic update,it's considered as flagged and even if you survived this ban wave the next one might no be so lucky?
So basically we're screwed xD

That post you linked says that it is now stable.

Pokefarmer and Lazymon are in the process of being updated to a new version.
A side note for developers: Niantic still has the old API opened and I highly recommend to not use it as it'll flag your account to get banned.

It's better to wait... or use useless accounts.

If this is the case, not only are the mixture of statements from different members of the PF team misleading but the fact that the pf service has not been temporarily cancelled is ridiculous... Why allow paying users to use a program that is going to get them banned? It just does not make any sense to me.

They are not in the process of being updated they already are. Open up PF and look in the bottom right. The version number matches with the 'safe' release. I asked only for accurate and confident replies to this thread. Check the facts before commenting next time please.

As per the post. It has been updated, and since yesterday we have had good results from everyone. At this time we have no reason to believe our newest release poses any risk past the usual for botting.

As for the banwave, it wasn't specific to
the errors and captchas, as new data suggests the banwave compiled those flagged for around the last 2-4 months with various settings, various use of 3rd party apps. Meaning that while we had captchas galore at first we have no reason now to believe that even with that trap, that Niantic effectively caught PF as they had hoped to do.

I hope this addresses your questions and concerns.
