which states that the update would be released when 3.0 was.. which was 24 hours ago. So yes, I do think its warranted to ask when it will be released.

No it is not warranted because all of 3.0's servers have not been released yet. Wait until all of EU and NA's servers are released and fully operational, then give him 48 hours. Patience is a virtue my friend.
