Regarding closed threads and the quality of HonorBuddy.

I've been browsing these forums for about a week now, after purchasing this bot. I'm seeing a lot of threads being deleted or closed rather quickly without allowing further discussion.

This thread offers the community as well as the developers valuable feedback about the product. Why are you guys closing threads or deleting topics so much?

I understand HB is one of the few "better" bots out there, but it definitely has some problems and could be much better. It's definitely not a one click solution and people do need to invest some time in it to get things working smoothly (pvp especially).

I would like to state it's very misleading, I was looking to pay for a bot that "worked" when I threw my credit card at you guys. The website and product page doesn't mention anything about all the bugs and issues people have. The whole "Honorbuddy is as easy to setup as ABC" totally does not apply to this product, it's a work in progress that needs to be manually updated very often.
 
not to flame you or anything, but its been 1 click for me, all i do is open wow, open HB, and click start bot, thats it. not sure what all you guys are complaining about. maybe im just one of them lucky ones, idk.
 
HB works is GOD. just great close this thread

You just joined, try it out and see it works almost perfect
 
I see something different.

1. I think HB is THE bot
2. There is the new BG bot - it is still beta, but it's a development for PVP players.
 
If you read the guides and faq's HB is insanely easy, and is easier now than ever before.

Most threads are closed due to the flaming that occurs, it gets very bad.
P.S. HB does work, and when it comes to wow bots you will never get a %100 complete perfect package from any company as they're always being updated and maintained. People need to go research before purchasing bots and expecting everything o be handed to them.

I'm tying to use it strictly for honor grinding, can't seem to run it more than 1.5 hours max though without crashing. I have tried the bot and pretty much dead in the water while I wait on this new release to try it some more.

Please keep in mind there are multiple things being developed on Honorbuddy that we merely test and reply with Debug logs. When people create 100s of threads about the same issue without providing proper Debug logs makes it hard for the mods and developers describe how to solve the issue or forward the issue to developers. Hell they went so far as making a plugin to make it easier for the Bug submitting process so they can iron out issues. As for setting up manually, I am not quite sure how you think signing in, loading a profile, selecting the bot type, and pressing start is difficult (Not flaming). Updating, sure I understand you there but hell you come here download the new version and continue on. Simple to me atleast.

And the site does not need threads bashing the bot. HB1 was the milestone to this great product. HB2 is improving on what other bots do not have. Sure PVP is abit rocky right now but I know it will be improved alot more when they fix the minor bugs that provide issues to some people.

Just my 2c.

Mine runs 12+ hours just fine.

It's still beta!

But I think the final version will be better than all the PVP bots. So wait ...
 
your post count is on 5 and i cant see a single log from you posted on our forums

if you want help you have to follow the procedure
so its better to open a new proper bug report thread than checking other threads

threads like this(without a single log),yes,are useless

and in my opinion the last reply from CodenameG on that thread is fair enough

This is pretty much the reason threads gets closed/deleted :P poeple just complain about problems (even if they dont have any problems of their own) and screams help instead of make a correct bug report and attach logs etc. Report your problems the correct way and the threads wont be deleted. thats it.

give full details (too much info > too little)
attach pictures if needed

I'm not "sweeping this under the carpet" ... But the devs are very busy and they read *all* of your bug reports, and usually fairly quickly (yes, even my complaints / suggestions / my errors) and generally offer advice quicker than here on the forums.

You can complain here, as long as it doesn't get out of hand.

Keep it clean, but remember -- if you have issues, bugtracker > random complaints to yourself that no one else will hear.

Most people would JUMP at the chance to tell the dev of something that they have an issue... well, click the bugtracker link and you can do just that.

Otherwise you're just (and I just use this as an example) yelling at "phone support for X company" ... most of us have been in that situation where you feel like nothing is being done and no one is listening and no one cares.

The devs do care =) post a bug report and you'll generally see the fixes in the next build or 2
 
Probably the same person (or from the same group) that emailed me privately saying to email him to get a better bot. pretty sad when other bot makers have to resort to this. Tony if you want the guys name thats doing it let me know i'll send it via PM with the msg he sent.

To the OP: Unfortunately there are a lot of members of our community that like to join threads to simply flame and complain, either to the OP for making a "Stupid topic that's already been discussed" so quite a few threads end up in the graveyard because they stray too far off the topic of the thread. When this happens our wonderful mods kill those threads and stick em in the graveyard.. But just because the thread is archived doesnt mean people do not still post in them, check out the AB plugin thread.. rasphus checks that thing religiously. Unfortunately the last two patches came at a time where the last release of HB had a couple of minor bugs in it that broke.. then the Ninja patch before they could address those bugs only added onto the troubles. HB has come MILES from where it was originally. This is a tool that if you use it correctly you will do many things with: 1) It lets you choose your avenue of leveling, be it PVP, Instances, Gathering, Grinding or questing. 2) the new features that the devs are putting in and fixing will help you automate your gathering and processing of those products (which no other bot does AFAIK, thanks Allrounder!) and 3) Allows you the user to create your OWN plugins if there is a feature that is not in HB that you want to include, hence the wonderful additions like AB, IB, All rounder, Buddycenter (one of my favorites btw rasphus and Poissen) and many others.

Yes, granted currently it is broken, but they are working on it and we should have a release today if not tomorrow. And Bossland and crew are always here to help address questions. Tony and others will come into a thread and try to police them but really guys, we should police ourselves and we wouldnt have threads that go insanely off topic and then end up having them slaughtered and put to the graveyard. yizzy when it works it works wonderfully, when AB wasn't bugged (due to the new dig spots thanks blizz) would run for 12+ hours and I use the relogger so I can switch back and forth to gathering too (another great addition by a community member)

I know it sounds like I'm kissing the devs asses but I'm not. I know that I'm not the only one who feels this way about HB, thats why we have as many lifetimers as we do (not just that but people with multiple lifetimes, which Im considering now that I'm ready to move beyond the three sessions myself), just give it a little patience, brush up on your C#/C++ and make sure to supply your LOGS so we can keep things moving forward.

Since I've used HB i've leveld over 10 toons to 80 on separate accounts, and made well over 300k gold (which I just use for myself and friends and my guild, no selling I'd rather keep all my associated accounts and be loaded :P). But the only reason why I was able to do so was patience, and learning how the system works and changes.. It's adapting quickly, with the addition of GB2 it's just simply the best bot out there.. now if we could only get the community to stop eating itself from the inside out. (the reports of botters reporting other botters is saddening :( )

Ok, simply put, because these forums are not for bug reports and things like that, the only way HB gets better is by user input which is SPECIFICALLY instructed in the bug tracker, the support forum here is for things just plain not working such as crashes unable to login and such. This is not the forum to report bugs, its been stated multiple times to use the bug tracker, and when problems are posted here they REQUIRE a log, which most people dont post and its kind of a lookover and ignore if no log is posted or a simple "post a log" reply, so if they did not moderate those threads this site would be overwhelmed. Every bot has bugs, this bot is amazing, i use the top 2 bots and this is one, and the other believe me has MAJOR issues also. This bot is more stable and when they say BETA, they mean BETA and that requires testing, so people that post bugs with the beta projects like BG's complaining that it does not work, well they need to google the term BETA, as for when HB will be back up? Its a paid-for program, which means one thing, Quality work, the last time the bot was patched to work with the new path, it was not just offsets that were changed, the bot was a lot more stable and the new BG feature kicks ass in my opinion, but yeah thats my rant. Enjoy it and take it how you will.

Just purchased HB on Thurdsay it worked so well, I bought Lifetime today. Took me about 3 min to get HB working and even less time with GB. Also, please read the Guides in the appropriate fourms. Tony's is very detailed.

Other than that, thanks for all the replies from the mods and community in general. I guess I'm just ranting and pissed I paid for something that wasn't "near perfect" for my use case being honor grinding.

I'll give it a couple weeks and see what happens.
