Can a WD build do GR75 ?

LTK monk doing 78 in 10-11 min run. Para 991. idk what other classes can go faster tho. Maybe crusader?

@NoLongerAwayBoss
stucked at Grift 72 ... what "Trash Pack Cluster Radius" do you use?

Here is the more-or-less best in slot gear/affixes/rolls: Diablo III Character Planner
Keep in mind, the Health Pool is only 631k in that build, adjust as needed.

Gear upgrades for you specifically, in priority order:

  1. First, you need ancient weapon/offhand. Weapon will make a big difference. Then you need ancient Helm, Gloves, Bracers, Boots.
    • These can all be had by upgrading rares to legendaries pretty easily.
    • Plan for ~60 crafts on average per slot. 2 slots. Call it 150 attempts max, so save up about 7500 of each material and 3750 Death's Breath.
  2. Then, you need ancient Helm [No Crit Chance?], Gloves, Bracers, Boots.
    • Upgrade rares as mentioned above. Probably about 200 - 250 attempts total for all 4.
  3. Next, Compass Rose needs a big upgrade.
    • Priorities: Socket > CHC > CHD > AD > INT > Ancient > VIT or IAS or Secondary Physical Resistance.
    • Again, Upgrade rings from the Jeweler to legendaries. Probably about 100-150 crafts to get a good one.
  4. Get an Ancient Witching Hour. CHD > Int > Vit > Attack Speed
  5. Gargantuan damage over Area Damage: Shoulders, Chest, Mojo
    • Don't forget Area damage happens 20% of the time to enemies within 10 yards, you can't increase that percentage.
    • "Area Damage" adds to the amount of damage that area damage does when it actually procs on an enemy.
    • This makes Gargantuan Damage more effective against your toughest enemies which are not usually in large mobs.
  6. Area Damage needs to be around 100%: Weapon, Mojo, Shoulders, Gloves, Rings, Paragon
    • 50% is bad (paragon only), 100% is good, 120%+ is great if you didn't sacrifice too much sustain to get there.
  7. Sustain Priorities: Vit > Armor > All Res

Things to think about:
You need to stack armor wherever you can without disturbing other stats. Must have on Pants and Boots.

Bane of the Stricken is bad for Pet Builds, use Bane of Powerful or Esoteric Alteration/Moratorium instead...
  • Pets do not proc the damage increase, only hits that your actual character does will raise the damage percentage.
    • You don't attack enemies often enough to gain much benefit from the increase-damage-per-hit as a result.
    • Pets will gain the effect of the damage increase from your character's hits, as well as the 25% vs. bosses/RGs
  • Bane of the Powerful gives you 15% elite reduction, 15% elite damage and increases all of your damage for awhile after elite kill.
  • Esoteric, you get it, to stay alive
  • Moratorium spreads damage out over time. It is good because Spirit Walk will clear the staggered damage.

Remember that Gargantuan Damage > Area Damage > Vitality >= Attack Speed

  • Attack Speed: Pet damage is based on your overall sheet DPS including your attack speed. Your character's attack speed does not improve a pet's attack speed though! Confused? It means your attack speed will make them hit harder on each attack, but not actually attack faster. In contrast, Tasker and Theos WILL make them actually attack faster.
  • Therefore Gargantuan Damage is most valuable and Area Damage is more valuable than Vitality or Attack Speed.

I would weigh Vitality above attack speed when you decide how to re-roll some items. It's the age old "Dps vs. sustain" issue. You need enough sustain to not get one shot in GRifts, then everything else goes into DPS.
  • In higher GRifts, even with GG Gear, it's tough to not get one-shot by RGs with low sustain/health.
  • You have to walk the tightrope of maximum DPS with 0 deaths in GRift, since a death can mean spawning with no pets which = more death.
If you're in godmode and don't die much, you can consider changing Spirit Vessel to Confidence Ritual.

I need trinity settings and cant find out why bot isn't casting Wall of Death and Soul Harvest on CD ?

Wall of Death and Soul Harvest have a buff-over-time™ effect after they are cast. There is no reason to blindly cast them on cooldown. If you have a 10 stack buff on SOul Harvest, you don't want to bot to recast it against 3 enemies. Wall of Death has an 8 second cooldown, it would really suck to cast it right before the last enemy dies and you move to the next pack just for it to be on cooldown.

Wall of death Necrosis buff lasts for 10 seconds: 60% less damage taken, enemies take 20% more damage, enemies take 1500% damage per second. Secondary Buff last for 15 seconds so the bot just defaults to the 10 second bonuses.

Soul Harvest intelligence buff lasts for 30 seconds, languish lasts for 5.

@TwoCigars

You can test out the latest BETA, it's in my signature. It has a new build system that has almost no combat settings to mess with. You just need to get your itemlist setup which takes about 20 minutes or so.

TwoCigars, would it be possible for you to export your item list for us lazy bastards?

TwoCigars, would it be possible for you to export your item list for us lazy bastards?

It would be if I was currently using a WD or had one that I could export for you at this time :P Even if I did, mine were from S7 and had some pretty ridiculously tough settings that were specific to each WD.

It will take you about 5 minutes to setup your own. Those who are truly lazy will appreciate the number of hours saved by autohandling the stash if you set it up right... by setting the item requirements to only keep items with actual upgrade potential.

Click type to "sets,"

  • open helltooth harness, select all items of the set.
  • open endless walk, select both items.
  • open manajumas, select both items
Change type back to "none"
  • Use the search box to find then add these items:
  • bakuli jungle wraps
  • convention of elements
  • staff of chiroptera
  • lakumbas ornament
  • coils of the first spider
  • These items if you dont have them cubed already:
  • mantle of channeling
  • the furnace
  • ring of emptiness

Obviously, until you have an ancient version, I leave the "must have ancient" and no other requirements.

As soon as I get an ancient, I will go back into itemlist to upgrade that item's "And also" section to include the best in stat affixes at minimum settings on the sliders.

Once I get one with best in slot affixes, I go back into ItemList and raise the sliders.

This may seem like a lot of work, visitng each item that you're keeping on the list 4 or 5 times. Realistically, every time you upgrade these settings, you're saving tons of time by not having to evaluate items that just end up being junked anyways.

Convention of elements is a perfect example. I get TONS of them.
First it was always kept when found.
After I got one that I could roll to Crit/Crit/Primary/socket and that had secondary resistance on it, I added those as requirements with minimums on sliders (1 on socket).
After I got one that was a trifecta/socket with secondary resistance that was ancient, I added ancient to "must have"
Now my convention of elements looks like this:
Must have: Ancient
And at least 3 of 4:
Primary Stat: 600
Crit Chance: 5.5%
Crit Damage: 42%
Sockets: 1

I hardly ever see one in my stash, but there are literally hundreds of them in my junk log.
