With a 6 piece Helltooth (5 piece + cubed RRG) set and short man's finger equipped, the bot stops using any primary attack skills at all, it does not seem to matter which one is selected, frogs, darts, spiders or ghost bomb as it is not using any of them at all, but just stands there spamming secondary skills. Also not using grasp of the dead at all. Switching the short man's finger out for a COE (or anything else) and it works normally.

It's because the bot detects that 6set+short man is a build, which isnt using primary attacks, and the meta build isnt using grasp either, so it doesnt.

So basically, I'd have to go in and disable detection of the short man if I want it to use primary skills with it equipped

No, then it would use badly optimized pet-build routine. I would suggest implementing primary skills into the build instead. Why would u want that btw?

I'm playing around with a couple of different variations of the Helltooth/Mask of Jeram build. Some use primary skills like darts and frogs, and one good one uses acid cloud as a secondary, but they won't work properly with the short man equipped. There doesn't really seem to be any way around it other than to go mucking about in the code.

Currently only a select few relevant builds are optimized. Theoretically you could make hundreds of builds for each character and the developers of the trinity combat routines have no chance of scripting that. You must either use one of the working builds or hope that the build you have in mind was relevant recently and still has some specific coding in trinity.
So yes, hipster builds require custom scripting.

I disagree, you don't have to code around builds or certain items, hell you don't even have to code around skills, the bot already looks at what skills etc you have so you can have it use them if they are on your bar (just like during levelling) however to support popular builds that require a certain casting order, that will need custom scripting...
