My apologies if this has been answered already somewhere, but I took a couple hours for forum searching, and didn't find anything. Is there any functionality to directly create GB2 profiles, or do they have to be converted from regular GB profiles? I used the GB to GB2 Webapp to convert one of the forum's herbing profiles, but I'd like to be able to create my own.

If the GB2 profile creation isn't available yet, perhaps someone could point out my error with making GB1 profiles. I've followed the steps in the GB Guide PDF on the last page, but I'm not finding an XML with the name I specified for the new route. Is it saved to a specific directory?

It's saved on the server. Once you make the profile you need to go to Gatherbuddy - Login to download the xml.

Then you can use the plugin converter to convert it to GB2. They'll get the route thing added eventually, but for now this works.

theres a little app in my signature that will help with conversion aswel

I wasn't able to get this to work. Here's what I did:

1. Load GB & login
2. [Path] tab, Unload Path
3. Recording Path Name: "TH Test", Record freq: 4000 ms
4. Record Path
5. Flew the route in TH, not gathering anything
6. Stop Recording
7. logged in to gb.buddyauth.com

In neither of the dropdown lists could I find my "TH Test" profile. Am I missing a step, or do I have all the right steps, and perhaps it's bugged for me?

GB2 profiles are not loaded trough GB1. your using GB1 to load profiles so if you made a profile for GB2 it won't work for GB1 since the tags are different. I recommend reading up on the differences.

Here's a regular expression you can use to convert Waypoints to Hotspots: (tested this with Textpad)

Find what: <Waypoint>[ \t]*\([0-9-]+[0-9.]*\)[ \t]+\([0-9-]+[0-9.]*\)[ \t]+\([0-9-]+[0-9.]*\)[ \t]*</Waypoint>
Replace with: <Hotspot X="\1" Y="\2" Z="\3" />

panyama, I understand your point, but i think you misunderstood my intent. My intent is to create a GB1 profile by recording it in GB1. Then, I use the GB1 to GB2 converter web app linked further up. THEN, i will load the converted profile into GB2.

But the issue that I'm having is not finding any .xml after I've recorded in GB1.

Why go to that much effort? All you need is a mere handful of hotspots and then you make it as if you were making a HB grind profile.

Why go to that much effort?

Call me picky, but I like to define the profile very tightly (less space between hotspots). The feature of GB that I especially like is the auto-record option, with the ability to create points automatically at short intervals (1-2 seconds). In my humble opinion, this seems to look less like a bot, and it also minimizes the distance returning from a node to the path, which reduces the chances of getting stuck on something.

So, back to my original question: where can I get the .xml from my recorded path? I've tried GBAuth, and tried snooping around the GB file folders, but no luck.

Answer hasn't changed since this guy replied.
