Hello.

I have been trying for 6 hours now to install .net framework 4.6.1 onto my computer in order to run demonbuddy but I keep getting a fatal error every time I have tried. It appears this is a problem multiple people have had and I have tried everything I have seen on google. I currently have every .net framework uninstalled and now it won't let me put any back on my computer with the same problem. Has anyone else ran into this issue and got a fix without having to reformat their entire computer?

Hi, Ruschj00,

If you are on Windows 7, then you must have Service Pack 1 installed, before the 4.6.1 framework can be installed. There are similar problems with various other versions of Windows.

Let's do this...
Grab the installer, not the .zip file, from here:

Run the installer with Windows 'administrator' privileges (right-click on it, and "Run as administrator"). The installer should put in place all the needed dependencies.

If something fails, please find the installer log, and attach it here.

cheers,

I am not smart enough to figure out how to attach my logs. It is saying it is the wrong file type but it says txt is allowed. :\

Hi again, Ruschj00,

You did well... thank you.

We're going to need one of the senior staff to look at this. Also, Tony might see something when he comes online in a couple of hours. He might want to Teamview into your machine. You can PM Tony your Skype ID and a link to this thread to expedite that.

I live in the states and it is around midnight my time so I am going to head to bed shortly. First thing when I wake up though I will do whatever you guys need of me. Thanks for the help so far.

Hi again, Ruschj00,

What version of Windows are you running? Demonbuddy only runs on Vista through Win10.1.

This appears to be the appropriate Msoft Knowledge Base article for your problem:

The article calls out a repair tool that can be used to address the problem.

cheers,

I have tried all three methods on there already and nothing works. I have no idea what is wrong and it sucks.

When I installed 4.5.2 originally I think I had to uninstall a few of the other windows updates so I don't know if I am going to have to do something like that again for 4.6.1

Hi, Ruschj00,

It sounds like you're on WinXP. If so, the Buddy bot is not going to work for you unless you upgrade the OS.

cheers,

Glad to find this post. After updating the .net framework and then it asked me for C++ updates. I then restarted my computer to all of a sudden having fatal errors and blue screens, constantly restarting itself. Had to run a system restore to get back to this point. I am running windows 7 ultimate, and I do have service pack 1.

****Edit*** I missed the comment on trying the installer instead of the zip. Will try that and post back.

Alright I got it fixed. After several hours with my buddy Syed from the microsoft support, I am good to go. He ended up having to repair my windows 7 which wiped out all of my updates so after I got all 230 of those back I can finally use the bot again. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. If anyone else is having the problem I had, good luck. You are going to have to repair or reformat your windows 7.
