What's up with this bot?

So I've recently decided to try your bot and I've honestly expected it to work at least slightly better.

The guide is outdated as hell and it appears that the map waypoints are also quite off with the latest patch.

I wouldn't even care that much, but how is it possible that you can't detect being stuck when the bot literally goes into a building for 5 minutes straight? I thought you knew the tank's position so why don't you add something that would check for whether the tank moves when it's supposed to or not?

Right now there's very high chance of getting banned due to getting stuck in every other building every other match.

So the question is, is there any known way to avoid this?
Does anyone have more recent waypoints for the maps or some plugin that would solve the problem with getting constantly stuck?

This bot's in the process of getting overhauled on virtually every major component it has - we're releasing a rather big update to the bot's logic later today, and are then moving on to other aspects of it to make it better.

As time goes by "later today" ist allmost over ;)
Will it be released today? (:

@Aevitas, Okay, it seems that I've managed to come at the wrong time, but it appeared to me like the bot isn't making any progress for really long time.
I know it's very hard to develop these tools that are supposed to have human-like behavior as I've developed few rather simple bots for MMO games myself.
I just found it rather sad that it gets stuck / drowns so often..

So, will the update cover any of the problems I mentioned before? Will it get updated waypoints or should I profile all the maps myself?

@RedDust, Well, it's barely afternoon in the US right now.. ;-)

It'll be today - just ironing out a few last things before we release. What we've basically done is implement a weighing system that allows the bot to cooperate with its allies a little bit more. It's not perfect yet, and the navigator and aiming will still act up, but we think it's far better than just rushing the objective every game. On top of that, this is far more difficult for WG's anti-bot system to pick up - no two games the bot will ever play will be the same, exactly as is the case with legit players.

Sounds very interesting. I'm sure looking forward to that.
Even though I'm far more worried about getting stuck than being detected because of repetitive moves.

Have you considered following players with similar tank type (standard tanks, artillery, destroyers) as long as there are some teammates alive and going straight for the objective only when you're the only survivor?

Yeah, we decided to go with something that more often than not ends up somewhere in between. It'll follow tanks around that take similar positions to your tank type, but it doesn't wait until the end of the game to go for the enemy base if it can avoid it - we don't want to be the last one alive on the team because of people spectating and stuff.

That's another thing. Can other players see that the bot isn't moving with the camera? That it's pointing the cannon without looking towards the target? (I'd have tested this by myself, but I have no idea how to do that.)

Definitely not, they can't see your local camera angle.
