ye like the tittle says how can i gear up my new class the fastest way to get legendary?

Is that your fresh char? Like just started the season?
If you are capable of running T10, get some core items. If you have about 10k+ materials you can use upgrade option from kanai cube. When i start a new char i always spent around 10k to get the right item for a certain build ( doesnt have to be ancient). I will just pick the first required or adaquete items until i get full set. After that just run GR until you get all ancients.

same thing, doing a fresh char, completely new server. I'm familiar with d3 since I have played it on other servers, but decided to play on another server with my friends.
what would be the best path to farm items using demonbuddy, assuming that I have no mats whatsoever to start with?

I'm currently running t1 rifts but things are going along pretty slowly

I've just started a new hardcore champion, and I am/was facing the same issue. What I did was:
- pickup everything and salvage everything so you have enough mats to use the hope of cain option in the cube. Also dont forget about ''Skill of Nilfur'' to convert set-items. Getting the set complete is more important than having all pieces ancient (at first, obviously)
- do some (split)bounty's and hope for some useful legendary's in the caches
- maybe craft some set legendary's just to have something equipped (sage's is quite nice with the extra Death's Breath option for more Hope of Cain)
- get enough tankyness to join public games and not die, but the not dying part is only important for playing hardcore
- get an idea of what items you need for what spec you want to play and gamble/upgrade wisely according to the d3planner or diablofans page
- run t1 rifts and hope for the best
- and most important: be patient, it will take some time to get things started on a fresh character

Best of luck!

It's not so much about what your character is capable, its more about what your character is capable of doing fast.

I started off a fresh account too, ran through to 70 on normal. Then do normal bounties, then rifts on normal.
When I get some gear and paragons then start pushing the level up.

To make it as simple as possible, it's about efficiency.

Normal monster health is 100% and on Expert it is 320%.
So lets say a normal rift take 5 minutes, you only really want to be on Expert when you are capable of clearing it in about 7 minutes.
Otherwise you are better off doing Normal or Hard, more monsters = more drops.

So to gear up quickly just be efficient as possible.

The game changed a bit since S5,

IMO play manually until you have the full set that is gifted to you for reaching 70, killing kulle on T2 and doing a GR20 solo. After spend your materials on missing legendaries by upgrading rares. Depending on your class you should be able to do T10 in a few hours after reaching level 70.

Thanks!

I just realised that all this while I thought I was running t1 rifts but it turns out for some reason the profile always defaults back to normal difficulty.
Any help here?

I'm using the default one from the adventurer option

The difficulty setting is in the main bot window.
Settings > Bot > Difficulty.

Pick up and salvage everything.
Get any set bonus asap.
Equip the highest dps weap asap.
Gamble for key pieces for your class optimal build.
Reforge optimal build legendaries into ancients.

You should be able to do T10 in a few days.
