If you are suddenly getting this error on startup, please read over the Programs that Interfere with BosslandGmbH Products page to see if you're using any programs that might be interfering with the bot.
In a recent update, it's a known issue that Afterburner will lockup the bot when it tries to run, and you must change Afterburner settings for the Exilebuddy exe for it to work correctly. This process is detailed on that wiki page.
Steam users will most likely also need to disable the Steam Overlay if they are unable to bot in Path of Exile via Steam. If you are a Steam user, and this is too much of an inconvenience, please let us know, so alternatives can be looked into. For now though, you will need to disable the overlay if the bot does not initialize properly for you.
Any video tools that add a FPS overlay will most likely conflict with the bot, so try to disable any FPS overlay features first. I confirmed this was a case with Bandicam, but once removing the FPS overlay, all was fine. I did not notice any issues with Dxtory though, but users mileage may vary.
