Greater Rift Settings - Greater Rift Level "Max"?

Just curious, but in the drop-down selection There Max, Max - 1, Max - 2, and so on. I'm not really sure what this means, I assume Max will always run the max level available, but what about the rest?

the rest is max rift lvl minus the number so if you're rift max is 60 and you set it do max -5 it will go grift 55

I don't get it... what's the point of that? Why not just set it to 55?

If your max is 20 and you are going to AFK and want your bot to progress higher as it completes 20 and so on... Or else it will be stuck on 20 until you change it!

I understand why setting it to Max would be beneficial, but if your current highest is 20, and you set it to Max - 3, why not just set it to 17? The max GRift level isn't going to get any higher by it completing level 17 Grifts, if it already has level 20 unlocked, correct?

Earlier you could advance up to 10 levels at a time, not sure if you still can.
