Killing between hotspots question

I have a general inquiry. When running Honorbuddy I have the ?Kill Between hotspots? check marked to work. From what I understand, when this function is turned on, my toon should be actively targeting and killing mobs as he travels from one hotspot area to the next. Now, my toon will kill things as he travels between hotspots, however, it appears that he only does so if he gets agro from a mob. This is especially noticeable when traveling from zone to zone after leveling. Once he reaches the hotspot, he will target, pull, kill and do everything just the way he is suppose to.

My question is, why is he not pulling between the hot spots? Have I misread what this feature is suppose to do? Does the ?Kill between hotspots? feature mean that the bot will simply defend himself if agroed so he doesn?t try to keep running to the hotspot with a trail of mobs chasing behind him? Or is this feature in HB simply a little glitchy?

This is all just for my own clarification. So far the current setup has worked very well for me and the mobs that my toon does pull while traveling have not been anything he cannot handle since I gear my guys well for faster leveling.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated and keep up all the hard work everyone!

Thanks

when he is "travelling" to the beginning or end of a profile ... or going to repair, I noticed that it doesn't like to target

Certainly I agree. As I said, I also notice that he will move to a zone, target and kill everything in sight, then while moving to another zone simply run through a mob, agro and kill it. It the “run through” part that distresses me as it does not seem natural at all. If I was at 80-85 and doing archeology, sure, but not while leveling. : )

^ that seems to be how it functions for me.
& I don't think it is intended to stray from your current path to hunt a little extra, if that's more like what you thought it was supposed to do. If you want it to do a bit extra between hotspots, have loot herbs/mine/ninja skin ticked and you'll surely run into mobs while you do that.

Honorbuddy uses "Kill Between Hotspots" while grinding--not general travel, or questing. There is an implicit understanding that the Mob must also be on the faction list established by the profile, before Honorbuddy will actively target the mob.

For a better understanding, we refer you here...

I have not tested this with public profiles, but my guess is that either the level or the faction of the mob(s) he is not attacking is not listed in the profile. MOre then likely its the faction... Each profile must list the specific faction types to target. Click on a mob, click on the target info button in HB, then check the profile against the faction of the mob in question. Just add the extra faction type and see if it then attacks.

When I make a profile I add factions for all targets in the area and in route to the next area, so I dont see this issue... but I dont use public profiles either :D

Thank you. I think this is the issue. I will adjust the profiles I use to add the factions not currently listed. : )

thanks again

Malice, this is also why most of my profiles "loop" the hotspots, because I want the profile to do what I tell it to do, so when it resets, it's almost always near the first hotspot

This should only be used grinding, questing using this will slow the speed of your leveling down.
