hi, guys, currently running i7 930 2.8ghz, X58 board, 6g ram, 240g SSD and GTX760 2gb

now I have my wow set to max foreground FPS 80, max background FPS 30, and I have them on 'HIGH' settings just in case I need to take over... I have 2 monitors and im running 2 WoW currently on small window mode side by side on the extended monitor while playing Dota2 and surfing net on the main monitor.

now with 2 wow running and playing dota2 and other stuff, my CPU load is hanging around 40-50% all the time at about 60'c and form time to time i feel drop in performance, mainly the PC become a little less responsive. especially when i need to take over and do something. and the ram usage is about 90-100%

so what do u guys think...i think im in for a big upgrade. had my system for 6 years and already upgraded SSD and graphics card they are PCIE3.0 and Sata3 while the X58 don't support it. im looking to get the 6700k that has 4ghz clock speed and 16gb of DDR4, however the 5820k has 50% more cores. problem is the 5820k on X99 is a lot more expensive, a little out of my budget..

is there any advantage for 5820k? i wanna be able to do all my tasks with no lag whatsoever. on top of that, im considering getting 1 more wow account to bot so i'd probably running 3 wow.

Try upgrading your RAM first, everything else should be more than enough, but that 6 GB is getting pretty low these days. Also, why do you need High settings to take over? Low settings with 15 background FPS should be enough and would consume a lot less resources.

wooo, i had both wow on Ultra setting, 100FPS foreground 30FPS background. but because they are running on my extended monitor they're always gonna be on background anyway. like i said i had them on small window and when i need to do something i just maximise it.

anyway i just change both my WoW windows from Ultra to LOW, and make background FPS to 15 and foreground 60... CPU tempreture instantly go down by 10c (15-20% load instead of 40-50%) and ram is reduced by 1GB... O.o

problem is when i need to do something manually i prefer them on ultra setting with high FPS and im lazy to switch.

I run multiple bots and use ISBoxer. it is for multi-boxing but it is great for managing resources for multiple Wow instances. You can set your FPS for background and foreground however you want. You can then have "normal settings at ultra when you don't use ISBoxer.
