...and by this, I don't mean the fact that you stocked up on a bunch of Grift keys and then let the bot just slam Grifts for a few hours. We all know that running the regular rifts to get the keys is crap XP. What I'm looking for is people who let their bot run Grifts with the "run regular rift if no keys found" option checked, forcing the bot to alternate between rift types. That's a really good measure of what kind of XP/hour you can actually make while botting over a sustained timeline.

For people that do this, what are your numbers looking like? Running a U6 monk at GR50 in full ancients (I'd call it 95% of "perfect gear state"), I'm seeing between 24-26B/hr (in TurboHUD) for long sessions, with my only bonus XP coming from a Leoric'd red gem in helm. I tried tweaking the GR level and found 50 to be the best overall outcome.

Anyone else run their bot like this and have some reliable data to report?

hard to tell, since iam farming riftstones with my wd (6b) and grifts with monk (grift 60) 2x red gem bonus 42-50b

but since rifts take 3 min and grifts about 15 it should be about 38,5b

15 min 45b/h * 5/6 = 37,5
3min 6b/h * 1/6 = 1
37.5+1 = 38,5b/h (one grift + one normal)
may have miscalculated

I think you will find a lot of people stating 30-50B/hr.

Right now I am gearing up a multibot to see how well I can do with 2 EXP/Proc bots, 1 healer, 1 static monk.

Yeah, I see a lot of people claiming that kind of XP on these forums. I'm not interested in people estimating "well my rifts take about X minutes and I get roughly this much XP, so I'm guessing it's about that much XP/hr".

What I'm interested in is people who use TurboHUD to track their XP over long sessions, and let the bot bounce back and forth between Grift and Rift. I'm curious to see what other people are getting with sustained botting.

...and BTW, the ~25B/hr I reported is the "Session (absolute)" line from TurboHUD. You need to account for all the time to bot spends in town to get a truly accurate reading of your sustained XP gain.

So i agree that alternating between normal and greaters is the only way to see the real xp/hour.

I'm not sure what you mean by "session (absolute)? if it is the sessions xp, then that just tells you the avg. xp since since you logged in, it doesn't take town runs into account. Am i looking at the wrong numbers, or?

I've found that running a WW Barb with Ignore Pain-Bravado (Grift 51 - Torment VIII) is about 50 to 52B/hr.

*I've disabled picking up progression globes, since that would make the time spend in greaters less.

One Hour with SimpleFollow/TrinityRev212 4-Man 67s

Only GR Full AFK...

This is one of the best solo XP I ever made. U6 + Leorics + Red Gem. GR 53s if I remember correctly...

Again, only GR, I farm keys and dbs overnight, since the build for it is a lot faster than the build for GRs...

You need to hit F5 to bring up the detailed TurboHUD stats. "Session (absolute)" is just below the "Session" line. It takes into account the entire time you've spent in game, including in town... which you need to include, because it's real time that your bot isn't doing anything productive.

Also, as a reminder to everyone, please stop posting your "GR only" XP stats here. I very specifically made this thread to try to get a look at what people were pulling when they were doing long term sustained runs (i.e. not stocking up on a ton of keys first and just running GR.) I don't care what you can do in 60 minutes of GR running. That isn't an accurate display of your total XP potential, because you have to spend a lot of time making crap XP in regular rifts. If you want to be honest with yourself (and the rest of us), post a Session-Absolute number from a long session as I described above.

As an update to my original post: I've made some tweaks and am getting around 28B/hr True XPH over last day or so with the same toon mentioned in first post. Gonna tweak some more stuff and push for 30B!

But farming Rifts get one key, go and do Grifts is not worth it =P

The build to farm keys is different from Grifts at least for a Monk, and I believe for a WD as well... I can make a whole lot more keys doing just key runs, and then concentrating in doing Grifts =P Overall its way better... You just looking for a Full AFK way, which is not optimal, maybe with YAR, changing Heroes, etc.. But even so, farming lot of keys first and then doing only grift later is the best way...

Anyways, I don't even farm solo anymore, if I do I will make like 2-5 paragon per day, probably not even that lol... I'm more into full group xp with simplefollow now...

Good luck tho =P

Arh, i see. You're right, that is actually the most accurate number to describe the effectiveness of the bot (and if you use another char to get keys, it would just be the average of the two's).

Right, so i log'd in and out for you to make it a new session, and here is the F5 TurboHUD details:
r04FzdW.jpg

So rounding up, it says 48B/HR.

I was AFK when the bot was doing its thing, but i'm certain that this is a bit better than usual, so i suspect that it'll drop if i let it run for another 20 hours. It'll probably end up at 46'ish.

The build to farm rift keys may be slightly faster but isn't really that much better (keys farmed per hour) than just using your GR build. The biggest loss of not weaving Rift/Grift together in a full AFK strategy is the lack of 25% bonus from exp pools during the Grift. And if you're running a profile to build bonus exp from pools, you're making basically no XP while you do it, and the first time your bot dies in a Grift you're back at no bonus exp for that session.

My original point stands: I don't care when people post their "Grift only" XP/hr numbers, because they're ignoring all the work that needs to be done behind the scenes to make that happen. That work is still TIME SPENT BOTTING, and you're making much lower returns doing it (and also having to interact with the bot more often). Thus, what really matters is what you can make over a long period of sustained botting. Letting the bot go back and forth between Grift and Rift gets you everything you need: keys and bonus xp pools.

If you want to brag about Grift XP, that's great, but please go find a thread elsewhere to do it, because that's not the point of this discussion here.

Protip: With the F5 menu up, you can hit Shift+Alt+R to reset the current session data. No need to relog to reset it.

Also, for that 48B/HR, was that Grifts only, or did you set it loose with no keys in inventory/stash so it had to run regular rifts too? If that's a true Rift+Grift XP number, what build are you running, because that seems very high.

Jesus, relax... no need to get mad LOL

Not mad. Just confused as to why people can't read the very clear words in these posts and insist on posting numbers I specifically said I didn't care about. There are 100x other XP brag threads where you can trim your perfect Grift runs as much as you want for e-peen purposes. Keep it out of this thread.

This is rift + grift xp. I know it is high, cause i spend quite some time putting the build / setting together :)

It was set loose with 1 rift key at the start of the session (stopped it after a normal rift after reading your post).

My build is a WW barb, with some variation to the standard build.

That's awesome, grats on the sustained XP rate! Haven't really played a barb lately; what did you alter with the build? What GR do you run while doing this?

Thanks man:D

So the difficulty lvl is 51 and torment 8.

the build is sort of like this:
http://www.diablofans.com/builds/57393-255-move-speed-whirlwind-barb-speed-farm

but i've got a different belt and bracers. The stats are also somewhat changed. And i've got a leorics ind the cube obv. Also changed war cry to ignorepain.

*not sure if this made any sense. I can post a pic of the gear and stuff when i get to my computer, if you want.

Nice - thanks for the thorough post. I'm seeing between 26-31B/hr on my U6 monk with this Rift/Grift high-AFK mode. Might mess around with a barb and see what I can do. You've inspired me. :)

What do your Trinity settings look like?

Awesome, i'm glad to hear i might have converted a non-(barb)-believer :D

So i can easily link my trinity settings, but i've also changed two things in the coding:
Weighting: changed it so it doesn't pick up progression globes, since this will give more time spend in the greater rift, and pump up the true xp/hr.
Combat: Changed ignore-pain to just be spammed, so i always have the 40% movement speed.

*Regarding picking up items. Every time you check a new box "Deaths breath" etc., you lose 1~2B/HR. With the numbers i've linked, i've only picked up legendaries.

** i'll probably post this stuff in a more coherent way in the guide section in a day or two ^^
