Im a college aged kid, and I've been curious about something. Selling gold for money isn't new or exciting, but I'm wondering just how worth it it is these days, or if it even is anymore. I don't need to be making 20,000 a year, I just need to make money to pay for my car, insurance, and living expenses. Just how viable is selling gold now? How much could I expect to make in a month with one or two accounts botting every day? I always hear a lot of complaining about the huge drop in gold prices, but right now gold is very easy to attain from selling herbs/ores/volatiles. I've made 25k in the past week with only about 10 or so hours of botting altogether in that time frame. Will gold prices plummet again? Will the price of herbs/ores drop so low after a few weeks that it will make it much harder? How much might I expect to pay for banned accounts and how often does a banned farmer account occur? ect, ect Id be VERY interested to hear the thoughts of anyone, most specifically some one who maybe makes a passing living doing this.

its a lot more risky than usual imo.
you have to be extremely cautious, but I would not suggest making a living on it or even relying on the cash from it.

Don't EVER rely on botting as an income.
It is a nice way of getting a little extra cash, but there is always the chance of having your accounts banned - then you're basically fucked unless you have some other source(s) of income.

I work part time right now, but I only barely get enough hours to get by. Was just looking for something a little extra extra on the side really thatll help cushion me. Perhaps I worded that incorrectly
All of these questions are valid and these are all ongoing questions primarily due to the fact that you never know. Gold selling is definitely not a stable market. Come shortly enough (due to botting of course) the prices in the AH will plummet again. With every up there is a down. We're still in the "Beginning phases" of cataclysm and therefore people are still in dire need of herbs/minerals for the sole purpose of crafting items, leveling skills, pots, etc. You should never trust your income source off of botting. Eventually the gold selling sites will plummet in price as with all expansions. With the Supply vs Demand principle you've got to realize that eventually they'll be forced to drop the price to meet the demand simply due to the fact of people no longer buying the gold vs. the substantial amount of gold they have on hand.
You also have to realize that the more you bot the more it's viable you will get banned. With the accounts costing nearly $120.00 you could potentially put yourself in a deficit if you're that unlucky of a person.
If you're going to college be a normal student and get a pizza delivery job or something to pay for your books. All of the GB/HB gold sold for cash you just use for beer supply
. College isn't cheap so just remember that you're no the first person to struggle through it but remember thousands before you have made it without selling gold
