and when I ding a lvl. my screan freezes up for about a good 4 to 6 seconds... and then my comp randomly will just freeze?

anyone have any type of suggestions for remidy?

lv,

sounds like a driver problem or a fault hardware problem (more than likely driver problem --- or hell, an addon)

You could always try to update BIOS after you've updated all drivers.

I hate sounding like a total noob. but im in my controle panel / system / hardware / device manager... Do I want network bus drivers? raid controll drivers? ata atap conroller? Not sure what im looking for. doesnt say " motherboard driverrs"

I belive I have an m3n78 -vm motherboard ...

lol, so I got the drivers hooked in I think
Ill keep ya posted

thank you all for you "enthusiastic" knowledge

or more realistically, since chances are wow doesn't have the textures for the Ding! animation stored in ram, chances are when you ding, it has to load them from the game files to your memory. if you have a slow hard drive, or a really fragmented one, that could cause that studder to happen. my suggestion if your going to do an upgrade, think about getting an SSD, or if not, then defragment your drive and see what happends. chances are it will improve your "Load Studdering" issues.

oh and "Geek" is a bad word, its used to oppress people and keep us down, the proper term is "Imagineer"

I format my hard drive no less then once a week and run a full virus scan every day.... I wont dispute that I have a less then desireable system i am sure its out of date. Much appreciation for the suggestions. I will see if drivers resolve the prob. If not, Ill be back with more questions.

so far the drivers downloads, might have proven to be the solver of the problem. however my screan still freezes when I lvl. my graphics settings are turned down to the worst possible. and It still teeks out.... My video card isnt the best, but No idea why it freezes up. I guess if it gets worse ill see if the computer store around the corner can give me some answers.

Anyone remember a program called (Kills all) its a program that shut down all unused programs to help speed up a system... Any thoughts???

Suggestions???

go to start>control panel>system>hardware>device manager. it will show you all your drivers anything with a yellow question mark next to it needs to be updated. just double click to update

just thought of something else

go back to system and go to advanced clikc settings under performance and click adjust for best performance

If you're looking for a program to shut down un-needed processes, you want Game Booster.

What video card do you have? Chances are if it's a texture issue that it's either a video card, hard drive or RAM problem - or a mixture thereof. I would updated video card drivers first and foremost since those are usually the culprit with graphics issues/freezes/etc.

Do you have and onboard graphics chip or what? Sounds like a graphics overload. Use to do that on a PC I had with an onboard chip. As soon as I installed one in the PCI slot, bam, fixed.

most likely a graphics card driver issue, or if the fault is at more than just dinging, even a faulty graphics card which might need to get replaced.

If you haven't fixed it already i'm having the same problems with my computer. I read through about 20 pages of forums dating back years. After my screen freezes im getting the "nvlddmkm driver crashed and was recovered" error message. If your having this message it seems ad though the new wow is trying to push your graphics card and a bug between video cards (multiple manufacturer) and your windows (xp,vista and 7) is causing your video card to overheat / over clock and fail. If this is your problem too, then adding more fans computer or house (cheap) for your computer will help, also adding a program to control your clocking speed to keep the video card for self over clocking.

i used to get that problem with my 8600 on my laptop -- i upgraded to win 7 and it was fine

Actually if it is freezing for 2 or 3 seconds it is an addon. remove your addons.
