Bad Mod. The community needs support!

To start, this isn't breaking a single rule. I read all the rules, and I'm not breaking them. This will still probably get deleted, just proving my point a little more.

Ill keep this short.

No one likes Tony. Tony is a horrible mod. He deletes things without reading them, he bans people for no reason, he thinks he is Superman on *****. <---(says cr--ack)

You cant run a forum as unprofessional as Tony does. He is tearing this community apart. He says one thing then does another. He just doesn't have a single positive thing about him when it comes to being a staff member. Bossland I understand he may be your friend and all, but thats why you dont hire friends to work with/for you.

Tony is doing his job, which is probably quite hard if management isn't clear on the rules.

Really now? Really? Tony deletes threads without reading them. Bans people for speaking their mind or agreeing with something he doesnt agree with. I dont think Ive ever actually seen Tony DO his job. He just does as he wishes.

Because he makes a gatherbuddy profile for the community once in a while, he deserves to be able to abuse people with moderator powers? So since FPSware has contributed almost every customclass we're using at the moment and Raphus has contributed to us InstanceBuddy, they should be able to ban the shit out of us, huh?

You make some valid points, but you should really provide some specific examples, and stop using generalizations because not everyone feels the same way you do. The Archaeology plugin mishap seems to have stirred up some serious drama for some reason. This post looks more like a whine than a legitimate request for petitioners.

1. Most people like Tony. He's nice to most people that follow the rules, he provides live support for users, and creates Gatherbuddy profiles
2. He might be a horrible mod ... or a great one. It's a subjective point of view.
3. Maybe true, I can't confirm or deny.
4. Bans usually come with a reason. Whether or not the reason is justified is up for debate.
5. He actually thinks he's Mario in a Bee suit, not Superman on *****

See #1 above. There are a few positives.

Both FPSware and Raphus have had their moments. They have both bashed HB (Bossland) in the past, left the forums and pulled their work form the site. Nobody is perfect.

I agree, lets keep it civilized. However, keep in mind that there are 32,000+ registered forum users so you would need in the ballpark of 16,000 signatures to even have popular opinion.

Not saying that i don't like Tony, but censorship on the forum is kind of getting to me. There's no place left to discuss issues that need discussing, and I (and everyone else, I'm sure) am afraid to start a new thread and face an extended mute.

I daresay that prior to a week ago, I had no problems with Tony closing threads. Trash threads belong in the trash - but viable discussion threads do not.

P.S. - Giving a 2-week mute to a prolific profile artist like w00tsauce does nothing but hurt the community.

I would have to agree. I was banned a long time ago for stating that I report other botters, and I still stick to this. I will report someone who is a careless botter as it endangers me and my operation. Since then I have seen multiple people post the exact same thing and suffer no consequences. I rarely come to these forums except to download new versions. why? because of the draconian rules that are enforced, or not enforced, depending on who you are. I have numerous profiles that I have made over the years, that I will not share because I don't like how things are done. I have written plugins and CC's, and even shared a few. but the majority will never see light on this forum. I have resigned myself to simply paying my money and botting quietly. I spend alot of time in IRC as I think its a far better community than what is found here. I would love to have my forum name back as its who I have been known as since the very beginning of glider, but alas, I doubt it will happen. I will be signing the petition.

@Morga, sure its not a great approach, but what other way is there to go? The only person that can be contacted is Bossland himself, which I had done, but he gets so many mail he probably doesnt have time to read half of them.

Some people dont have a problem with Tony, but thats only bc they dont pay attention. When half of the Mods and 90% of the contributors on these forums cant stand the way Tony works, thats not a good thing. If I wanted to drag people down I could post screen shots of 3 different staff members speaking bad on Tony, and I dont need any screenshots form the contributors, they say it enough. There are a few people posting they like Tony, but thats a needle in a hay stack.

If Bossland doesnt mind his community getting driven into the ground because Tony thinks the forums are his own personal chat, then whatever. I like this community. I like people being able to come up with ideas and speak their mind on what should be changed/fixed/added. Tony doesnt like that. There is a HUGE list of people who have gotten muted for NOTHING. He doesnt mute for a reason, he mutes because he wants to mute and it makes him feel powerful. I got muted for speaking my mind (before I ever said anything bad rly). Wired was muted before for nothing. Other contributors have been muted for nothing. Tony would mute his mother if she posted here, and probably over nothing.

I think the fact you report other players though as a personal opinion is wrong just because there 'stepping on your turf' gives you no right to report them for something you are equally guilty for.

its not about turf, its about careless botting, and AH spamming. It brings attention to the botting community and people then "hunt" bots. ive seen it happen on more than a few occasions

I agree that w00t is very sour grapes about the whole thing, and is only really pushing this hard because he feels he's been wronged. Personally, I've not seen a response from Tony that I didn't think was justified. My $.02.
