"We have other things in the works to limit the offense we give to the general WoW community, but not all could be put in place at once."

Sounds awful. Care to elaborate? I'd love to know if now is a good time to NOT waste my money on another wow account due to bossland further stripping down the product in the near future.

You guys can't honestly believe this changes anything on blizzards end... The logic and rationale escapes me.

Still - I'm positive the comment has people very curious.

Hi Snowflake,

Creating more threads, asking more questions and claiming things are wrong, is not going to change what's happen or help you understand better. It's quite obvious that the ideas expressed by the development team are for the safety of us as customers. They lasted 5+ years without this issue, I'm confident they can last another 5 and then some.

To the statement on spending money, errr excuse me "wasting money", that's your call. If you can't play a game without botting, I understand you. Depending on what you do in the game, investing in new accounts rarely has sunk me in a hole.

I hope you can understand that the botting community as a whole needs to realize blizzard's stand is more firm than before. That puts a lot of stress on the developers and others building cheating tools alike. No one knows the answer, and if disabling a few features to possibly ensure the safety of all their users, I'm all for it.

Disabling features that some people may have bought HB for. By all means continue the BGBuddy support though. Because a few on time kicks and CC's got us banned not a bot standing there staring at 15 people in BG.
Please....

How do they taste? Just bored and curious.

Could care less about your finances btw. And it's just as much about time and principle. Two things kids rarely (if ever) understand.

Atleast bossland knows if they change HB into a harvest bot they'll still have you to count on! "Raindrop?"

Btw If you need help with reading comprehension, wife is an English teacher. Unless I've recently contracted Alzheimer's I'm pretty sure I've made ONE post on the subject and like THREE posts on any topic at all in the last two days. Talk just to talk I reckon. Atleast you got your post count up. That community developer tag sure doesn't mean much these days does it?

Anyhow now that we are done with our pissing match - again we would love to hear what other things are being changed in our new oxymoronic "morally correct-bot" so one can ascertain if investing anymore money is worth it. As many have said - wow has been looooooong dead without botting.

It makes no difference what they disable to try get off the radar, hb will always be to blame for any bot/rotation helper that appears. Its far to gone to think otherwise.

This. But apparently the shot callers think otherwise. Somehow.

I agree... They should rename it FarmOnlyAndNothingElseBot. And then when Blizzard banwaves it rename it JustPayAndDoNothingBot.

What is going on with the forum, i see threads beeing lock/closed/opended posts getting deleted/filtered by the minute. Are there 10 mods sitting down and filtering/deleting everything or whats up bossland?

The truth of the matter is, HB owes you nothing. No explanation, not reason, not even an apology (which they were nice enough to give). They are a business, and as such, can do what they please with the product they sell. If you don't like it, leave.

It makes me wonder... why are people getting so upset about this. If they really need a bot to play PvP, maybe they shouldn't PvP....

But then they can't go around waving their E-penis claiming to be PvP Gods

i still can't believe people think they are going to elaborate on security measures on a public forum

I hope to god you don't do customer service, but with that tude you will fit in well with the blizz team. This mindset is can only be used if you are the only company in the market.
HB has been pretty good about telling us what is going on and the mindset of the higher ups. To this I have no probs. Even though now I have 6 keys and I only need one now.
But when you come in here and start talking like that it will leave a bad taste in a lot of peoples mouth. Just by this post I can tell you got what you wanted.
I hope they don't take your advice that they can just do what ever they want or there will be no HB due to people leaving/not wanting to buy.
People are pissed about the can take your account just cause we can clause of the ELUA. You are stating that HB can do this as well. Yea they can but that would be a Dick move.

Bossland is running a business. In the end, what is more important? Keeping the majority of an extremely popular bot intact and functioning, or pleasing a smaller percentage and having a multi-billion dollar business run you out of business? If he feels this is the best option to keep HB alive, what right do we have to criticize him? I'd rather see no arena than no HB at all.

And for what its worth, I don't do customer service. I'm a chef by trade, so I never actually have to see a customer lol. I'm too much of an asshole to deal with people all the time. I know my limitations...

Back on topic- At least they didn't totally disable PvP. But too much press can be negative prees in a case like this. First the lost court battle, then a massive HB banwave. What's next? The total loss of HB. I don't want that, do you?

killajosh, google bait and switch and tell me in 200 words or less why you feel removing functionality that was originally advertised as part of a product is a good business decision, or morally sound for that matter.

im pretty sure arena was never officially supported to begin with

Please show us where HB was advertised for arenas? I haven't been a member long, but I scanned the Wiki before I bought a sub. Wanted to know what it was all about. That was before the banwave, btw. Never read that it should be used for arenas. Nowhere in the buddystore would you find arena CRs, just PvP CRs. Just because people use it for something doesn't mean it was made to be used for that purpose.

How is it bait-and-switch if the product was never actually advertised as an arena bot?

That's why I bought, tested it, charged it back and I happily use the other version =P

It seems to be the same way all this is going on. The announcement was made that Honorbuddy is closing off the ability to use the program in Arenas and everyone is crying that they can't use their PvP combat routines anymore. They listened to what they wanted to listen to, read what they wanted to read, and will continue to do just that no matter what anyone says or brings to their attention. They have it in their minds that Honorbuddy was strictly sold to them as an Arena bot even though the documentation states otherwise.

To be honest, I see Bosslands reasoning behind the decision. However I'm having a hard time seeing Blizzard "leaving" HB alone just because they disabled arenas. HB still has a huge impact on the game with or without arenas, however I do agree that disabling the feature may reduce the risk of a new banwave in the near future. Blizzard will still be hunting HB even though arenas are disabled.

As a general uses who uses HB for many things, I still will not use the product because I still think that the current risk of being banned is too high even though arenas are no longer allowed.
