Okay so I was doing some thinking about botting and wondered if you purchased a new wow account from scratch , got the 90 boost and levelled it with a bot to 100 THEN transfer it to another account would both accounts get banned if a ban wave was to hit or just the one botted on? Just curious.

Well i assume it's just the one you attached the bot to. I have two linked accounts under one email address but i still have access to my 2nd one even though the first is banned.

So in theory you could be totally safe if you just botted leveling and then transfer the toon to another account once it's level 100.

In theory yes, but I've gotten characters removed once for doing that when an account got banned (seperate emails tho)

I don't know for sure. But i don't see how they can ban you for moving a character. Only for using a bot.

Hmm, well, perhaps it's just a case of testing.

Dealing with a character loss is much easier than dealing with an account loss. Thanks for the input.

You are very correct - but I'd rather deal with a ban then spend $25 every character to transfer them! I could see a character I really liked, but other than that blizzard won't be getting anymore money than the subscription (if I can't get a token)

Some ppl reported, that their non botting accounts were also banned in last banwave. But they transferred character from botting to nonbotting acc. We don't know, what type of banwave this was and there is very strong possibility, that there wasn't HB detection on your PC, but Blizzard detected botted characters on server side (some kind of pattern search).

That is probably reason, why ppl were banned on their nonbotted accounts that have botted character on it.

So answer on your question is - No, it is not safer and when banwave will hit again, you will lose two accounts instead of one.

Isn't it possible they were botting on another account while playing on their main account? I mean the 3rd party software would still be running even though they werent botting on their main. Also if they did it by some sort of pattern wouldnt it have hit other botting sites as well? This looked like a 100% targeted HB banwave.

1) I also botted and played on my main same time and main isn't banned.
2) That is not right, some other bots (smaller one) also had some banned accounts
3) It depends on what kind of pattern was used. They can use pattern based on kicks profile, or pattern based on Garrisonbuddy etc..

Even if you move your character to a new account who would play the character for you? Yourself? WHAT?!?!?!?!?
If you are a true botter PVE or PVP you'll still have to use a bot which defeats the purpose of this whole exercise.

PvP: Level the toon assuming you know how to play it. Get it geared via ashran or such. Transfer then win 2s/3s/5s

PvE: Level the toon assuming you know how to play it. Get it geared via dungeonbuddy or by hand. Transfer and win raids

Don't know how to play? Do what I do - stop at LvL 90 and play by hand a bit. Watch the bot and see what is uses.

Or maybe I enjoy end game content I just HATE and DESPISE leveling.

I transferred my botted char off to a new acct and both accts got banned...

That's a lot of money JUST to get a level 100 on your main account.

We're talking about buying a new account ($10 at least), buying WoD ($50), and then paying for a character transfer ($25?) just for the sake of having a level 100.

'' Casuals '' Dumbest comment NA 2015.

there is a clear difference between casual botters and HC botters. and im betting everyone here complaining on the forums are casuals.

HC botters dgaf and are still botting

Considering I get wod for 25 then the chest for 5 then the transfer for 25 , yeah. worth.
