I called how much the tokens would cost months before they were even released. I will call it again, besides how much the initial rise would be, thought it would be much higher, blizz obviously didnt work out how much of an increase they should have had it at. It will hit around 30k when 6.2 drops and stagnant again around 23k.

blizzard is making tons of money off these tokens no matter what their motives. tell me again what that means for Joe Botter who bots for his own enjoyment. compared to Competition Joe Botter who runs 10 accounts and sells all his gold to random players on the internet.

tl;dr what changes for botters if the price is 25k based on whatever you can google opposed to blizzard setting the price at 25k.

Tbh not really complaining that much, it's not a big deal for me. Adapt and survive.

Though it bothers me a little bit that blizzard is so dishonest in their blue posts about token "price being player driven" and all that nonsense. They're extremely vague about the fact that they're nothing more than IGE without the chinese And that wow now truly is Pay-2-Win.

However one could argue that you could always just buy the TCG mounts ->Redeem->Sell on AH. Though this was more tricky, especially if you live in europe. Very few europeans want to order something from ebay from some US-citizen that they've never met. And those cards Blizzard didn't sell, they sold the chance of getting a card, which is a whole different story.

So they just banned 100,000 players who had the most gold in the game. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that botters were probably amongst the richest players in the game. I.e the players that are buying wow tokens. So how was the wow-token price affected?

0% change.
Though blizzard has reduced the value span between min and max price for tokens and just put a fixed price on it.

Before on EU during one day:
Max: 44k
Min: 37k

Now:
Max: 40.2k
Min: 39.8k

Guess this way they get more business by not forcing their customer to do business with them at a certain hour (the hour in which wow-tokens are the highest).

All I have to say about Tokens is simply this:
EVE-Online: Honest.
Blizzard: Deceitful.


And what pisses me off the most is that people actually think that they are affecting the market. You're not.

But that's not happened at all; either those ppl affected (myself included) either aren't returning to wow (like myself) or are returning to WoW en masse thru BattleChest or other means than the Token.

I'm starting to lean towards the soon to be known as a fact: Player bought tokens is only a small fraction of the tokens sold, blizzard is "buying" the majority of them. Essentially being no different than IGE.

Yep, this seems pretty reasonable!

Friends on the TW/CN servers still argue, that even with these higher WoWToken price levels, they still technically have nothing to do with their gold, always sitting on the gold cap!

i try to keep my gold on hand around 100-150k. way i see it, better to give it away then have blizz take it.

even with 100k, there is absolutely nothing in game that i desire. when i was raiding HM, i geared up 2 druids, blew close to a million gold for the two characters just on boes.

i donated to guild banks, to buddies for boes, bought mounts, pets. i even attached an account to my wifes bnet, bought her all the mounts she wanted, then let the account lapse. i couldnt even imagine having 1m all at once. what could you possible spend it on.

Precisely. And the fact that they're not admitting to this is what I don't like. I don't like the shady-ness. But I guess people wouldn't like it if they knew that blizzard sells gold, basically turning WoW into more of a Pay-2-Win game. With this progress, I'd guess in the future you'd be able to buy damage increase tokens...10% increased damage for an hour, only €3.99!

I've been discussing what I think of the Area 52, Aliens, and UFO theories on another thread so I'll leave it there. However you brought up an interesting topic. They don't only make it easy to gear up a level 100 they also allow you to do things like gain rep faster (MoP) and gain legendary drops at a more expedient rate once you have one character who has done it already. I feel the gearing thing is affected by a few factors. The drive to simplify and modernize professions. I am not sure it worked, but there it is. That fact and the fact that everyone wants ALTs has pushed them to try and cater to the population of altoholics.

I'm not sure we as botters can't accept a very large portion of that blame square on our shoulders... if you start examining a lot of things about WoW and how they ended up where they are today. It may be that we should be grateful to even have as much and as long as we did. Not sure to be honest, but it comes into my mind when I read things like this. We are constantly pointing fingers but maybe that was the natural evolutionary process?

I know a lot of people never had a job where they got to directly see Occam's razor in action but I have and for myself it holds true in all things. Not the explanations we come up with or the ones we generate because there isn't proof for or against what we think/do.

And please stop using occam's razor, everyone has watched the house episode where it is explained - where you probably learned it as well. So instead of dropping that one you could just say "simplest explanation is usually correct". Also I don't really understand your post

Yea, the red line was definitely not planned for Blizzard, but hey, after so many years, they seems to get their "glory" moment finally, even after, it is just for a week

Now seriously,
the 3rd party gold-selling market (It is not illegal, but against their TOS instead!) for a various reasons is only indirectly related to these suspended accounts

First, because it is ran by the gold-selling companies, which already have stockpiled plenty of gold!

Then, still a lot of gold is flowing from exploitative activities, like hacking and scamming.
