as stated i add bad nodes but gb keeps going to the glitchy node that is 20 feet in the sky

badnodes are working as it should
post your file(badnodes) here and i will check it
post your debug as well
both files as attachment

This might be an inappropriate question, but is there a way to see if the bad nodes file is "loaded" in the GB session?

e: Disregard the stupid question, debugger is your best friend...

Yes debugger shows if all badnodes were loaded correctly.
Also, when adding new badnodes look for any that GB added and copy that format to make sure you're doing it right.

Don't want to contradict your article, but I have an EU wow client, my badnodes.xml uses . as a decimal sign.
When GB decided to blacklist something itself, it uses . (dots) too.

So what is the deal ? Do I need to change all those dots to commas ??
And if that is the case, why does GB put dots instead of commas ?

EDIT: I think you mean to say it all depends on your regional settings.
While my wow is EU, my windows setting are set to US. Hence why the "." is working.

Mezz0,

THANKs for the clarifications as to the subtleties of this! I use a US WoWclient and depend on the information provided by others to fill in the blanks. I'll get the Wiki article updated with your information soon.

Thanks again!

Mezz0,

You've PMs turned off, so I can't send this to you that way. :)

Can you show me a snippet of the badNodes.xml file from your EU WoWclient with the US locale? Specifically, I'm interested if there are commas separating the numbers or not.

So is it
1.2345 3.45 8.59
or
1.2345, 3.45, 8.59

for you?

thanks!

your windows regional format settings are on En(US) ?
yes

Eeerm, it works pretty sweet for me. I do have way better gear then when I started adding nodes to the badnodes file.
So perhaps I die less because I'm better equiped ?

I don't rly know how to verify if the badnodes.xml is working aside from watching the bot, for which I don't have time now

How about I attach my log from yesterday ?

Attachments

[6:01:18 PM:563]:Error in XmlDocument load: The 'waypoint' start tag on line 282 does not match the end tag of 'bad_location'. Line 282, position 108.

use notepad++
not just notepad and you will find the error

Sweet, thanks. Didn't see that one. Any other issues you can see in my logfile ?
Any sign that my badnodes isn't working as it should ?

the rest part is fine :)

Just so I get the writeup correct,

can someone with a EU WoWclient running and EU 'locale' settings in your OS show me your badNodes.xml file?

I would expect to find a comma for the radix separator. But, I would like to know if there's a comma also separating the X-Y-Z components, and are there any other differences of which to be aware.

thanks!

Well,

Nobody has responded with the EU WoWclient/locale info so far, but I did the writeup anyway. :D

The new information is here...

...based on my current understanding. If its not right, please let me know, and I'll try again.

cheers,
