Can't play (effectively) without Honorbuddy - pathetic?

The crappiest part of Patch Day is not bot downtime, it is having to read threads like this.

You should use this as a bit of a warning that you're not playing enough of the actual game anymore and are more worried about making gold or whatever it may be.

I can't speak for every single person here, but I bot so i don't have to play the actual game. I also bot to make gold to fund my main raiding toon. I use the bot to automate most every single part of the game including my rotation while I do the one single thing i still enjoy, which is raiding.

So, is it pathetic that you can't play your toon on Patch Day? absolutely not. If you actually cared how to play your character, you'd be doing it without the bot anyways.

Don't let anyone tell you that you are less of a gamer just because you use the bot to play the game. FFS, do people still hammer nails with their fists? of course not, they use a tool. Do you run to work every day, or do you drive? Most people drive, a car is a tool. Do I go farm 5000 Mithril Ore by hand? or do i use a tool.

Few people choose a harder method, when an easier method is available. Otherwise, we'd still be living in caves eating frogs.

Knowing I change the outcome of an encounter through my own input makes the game more enjoyable. Only having w,a,s,d and occasional tab to press would lessen the gameplay. A similar comparison would be those who use aimbots in shooters - why do they even play? Their competitive spirit and sportsmanship is weak. I prefer some challenge and value the satisfaction that comes with improving overtime over using a bot that any 12year old could use to do well.

That's how I feel and half the reason I play WoW is to sell my current account in a few months. I only gain around $65/month. Live by the keyboard, die by the keyboard. #keyboard_warrior

To the guy w/arthritis : Wildstar has a hold to cast option, as should WoW. I use autohotkey for that same functionality and wonder how much of a difference holding over mashing makes for preventing arthritis.

i respect your point of view. i really do. there is a sense of accomplishment of manually outplaying an opponent. its just tough to put all gamers in that category. i detest pvp, but i respect the players who excel at it.

while your point of view is valid, it does not cover all gamers.

For me, moving out of the poo is enough for me to enjoy the game. the glory of 20 people executing a strategy with 90% success for 10+ minutes drives me to keep playing the game. Ive done it manually, and probably with a little practice i could do it again. but having that advantage of being able to enjoy the encounter instead of stressing over my raid position and making sure others dont die is worth running HB.

Yep, but you better know your class and a few good addons to explain yourself mastering the rankings.
Skorpinot, you play against a skript in pve. So I use my own script *gg*. I dont get it either why bot in PvP, cause if I want a challenge against other humans, well. But doesnt mean I blame pvp botters. We all have our reasons. Money or fun.

pretty much this, I'm top healer almost every time and I'm just sat there chatting to some friends in pm while everyone else is sweating lol. I play WoW to chill after work anyway....I don't really care about what's 'pathetic' on a video game.

After using the bot, our standards of what is acceptable performance have changed. I can still play my characters but I play them better when a combat routine handles things like cooldowns and correct rotation. More enjoyable for me, with greater satisfaction after time spent in the game.

As others have said, I wouldn't play as much or even at all without the bot to handle things that aren't that much fun. And I can multitask some work or watch a stream while I glance at the game every now and then to make sure the character isn't stuck or waiting for something.

People who really like to do things by hand can beat their clothes against a rock at the riverside. I prefer to load the washer and press a button. Isn't that what technology is for?

This is not the same as using a nail gun instead of a hammer, its more along the lines of using a BAZOOKA to a hammer a nail. Its against the RULES (aka LAW) whereas a nailgun is not...but using a bazooka is.

And yes it is pathetic. This is one of the most basic games out there, if you cant comprehend "dont stand in shit", "stack up", and run a basic combo (most likely less than a string of 6 keys usable 1 at a time, with the exception of a few [4-7] CDs)...then in reality you are pretty damn pathetic. This isnt rocket science, it requires less coordination than working at mcdonalds. I see no issue with botting...but if you cant even play the game without one...then are you really even playing it with one? Don't fool yourself into thinking you're not less of a gamer or player...cause the fact of the matter is you are. Don't compare your 100000000 hours of botted gameplay to me, because i will shit on you with my fingers and laugh the entire time.

yep you got it, smashing the same 4-6 buttons on cd/prio is simply boring. Its all about spending the time with your guildbuddys. I´m simply got lazy cause the game allows it, demands it.

He did not say it was hard too do theese things? He pointed out that he is using a tool, which helps him do it for him. It´s not hard to learn the basics of WoW, i agree with you, but sometimes it gets really boring bashing the same keys for hours and hours in a raid. Using HB will make it easier!

In my case it's not a question of not being able to handle the rotation, I'm lost without HB due to the fact that I suffer from severe arthritis and aren't able to hammer the keys as quick anymore, so HB+Raidbot+CR is a absolut necessity for me.

Without it, I wouldn't be able to play WoW at all.

Same. My fingers are disfigured from my arthritis and it's super hard to play legit. The pain is insane after a raid night. Had to play by hand last night.... Ill just sit out next time so I don't have to take a pain pill from playing a game.

I got 5 accs with 20 chars over all(all classes). And I am rather able to beat the "mine and herbal monster" on garrison-run with the frost-mage I've started when WoW was released. - But I am quite good in optimizing the combat-routine-settings for my toons. Overall I enjoy this kind of cheating in WoW much, especially in PvP.

Because of Patch 6.1 introducing new code, HB is down for the time being. As a result, I cannot play several classes effectively, most notable of which is my 660 Blood DK. The rotation on the Blood DK is complex, as is the rune system, and on top of that, it's a tank spec. I sometimes think the very-short queues are not worth all that hassle.

Other classes/roles that HB does better than me are Unholy DK (my main's off-spec), BM Hunter (a few buttons sure, but a lot to look out for), and Holy Paladin (**** healing w/o a bot I say).

Right now the only two classes that I can play well without HB are the Affliction Warlock (easiest of the 3 specs, though I can manage the other 2 to some degree), and the Shadow Priest (mucking around with one on the PTR).

It wasn't always like this, but sometime into Cata I discovered HB and have been using it ever since. In the end, is it pathetic of me that I can't play most classes without HB helping my rotation?

sometimes its not an issue of 'can't play with the bot', sometimes we just prefer to play with the bot.

wow is easy, it is also boring as shit. why play the shitty parts of the game if you dont have to.

edit-- maybe consider it in a different way.

lets say, you enjoy your job. you dont see it as a job, you see it as 8 hours of doing something you enjoy. you truly do enjoy the activity and would probably take it up as a hobby if you werent lucky enough to be paid to do it.

now consider this, lets say you have to drive and hour and half both ways to get to your job. you love you job, but you hate the drive. you would love to get a job closer, but there are none available that give you the pleasure your current job gives.

do you, look for a job that is less enjoyable, or do you look for a way to make the current commute less shitty.

i look at HB as a way of making the drive to my job less shitty. i get to experience the enjoyable parts of the game with out the shitty grind.
