you can use the gift option and just sit on the keys until RAF time is up. then apply them

Actually there is difference between buying a key, and using it - so use the difference properly

Atm RAF mail is sending instant, so you will have no actual downtime on them.

And on the question - no - the RAF bonuses are too OP, if you intend to level from lvl1 your toons, to be worth to scratch it easy.

you can connect RAF after you bought the accounts. for several days after purhase.

Turns out you can only buy 10 keys per account per month. I didn't know that before. I have a nice stockpile of keys for future plans.

And yes you can connect RAF later. Here is a quick guide

1. Create new Battle.net
2. Buy 5 Keys / Licenses for WOW1 through WOW5
3. Log into WOW1, open chat window, click on Recruit-A-Friend Button, send recruit e-mail to self
4. Log into e-mail, click Link
5. Select which account to link
6. Rinse and Repeat. With this, you can form a RAF circle like below.

WOW1 --> WOW2 --> WOW3 --> WOW4 --> WOW5 --> WOW1

Every account has a recruiter and recruitee and each will get the bonus rewards (if you buy 2 months of game time for each acccount)
