What do run to get gear as an un-geared, fresh char?

just started playing season and i am dressed in yellows lol.

what can i run to get geared quickly?

normally i used to run chest runs, but it seems those dont work anymore?
 
The best way I've found is crafting basic level 70 legendaries and running normal rifts on the highest torment your character is capable of. Basically I just take a fresh crafted geared char to t2/t3, go to a random waypoint and attempt to kill some trash mobs/elites. If I can easily clear them I increase the torment until I can't clear trash mobs. Run rifts and get gear upgrades until you can run T6 rifts consistently and efficiently, then you'll be geared in no time.

I leveled a Demon Hunter from 1-70 and got him fully geared for an M6 frostfire build in 6 hours total this way.

You looted full m6 in 6 hours, including RoRG? Not possible

If you are having issues with opening chests go to trinity config and check open all containers and then check every other box there to be certain, geared new account with WD,wiz,barb,monk over the past week

I did, it does open them but damn it's buggy and slow as hell.

It's entirely possible. I may have gotten lucky with a few drops, but I timed it and it was a little over 5 and a half hours total. Once you get decently geared you can run torment rifts and use the shards to focus on a particular slot of gear. Once that slot has the desired item you can move onto the next. They weren't BiS rolls by far but they still got me the M6 set bonus.

It took me WEEKS of constant 24/7 botting to actually gear up a 4.15BP demonhunter, but basic gearing is stupidly easy if you run the right things and run them efficiently.
