Is it possible to merge badnodes files? Going into notepad and just combining every badnode file into one huge one?

Will this affect performance as the badnodes file will contain nodes that aren't even in the region you're harvesting in?

From my experience it doesn't affect overall performance. Some of the gather buddy profiles have updated badnode updates from other users. Anyone else have more knowledge on the matter?

Just copy and paste everything in between <nodesBlacklist> and </nodesBlacklist> from one badnodes file into your other badnodes file, being sure to place the copied section from your first file in between the start and stop header/footers of your second file. Save your new file and you're done. You should be able to combine as many as you want in this fashion.

That's what I do.

Are there any negative effects in having duplicate badnodes? If you merge badnode files, you will have the same node listed multiple times.

All I can speak for is my own experience. I have several badnodes files merged for Northrend runs and haven't experienced any negative impacts that I can see. If it's affecting my performance it's so slight as to be unnoticeable on my computer.
