BGBuddy is literally YEARS overdue for fixes

I run a small business myself, work a full time job, trade options, bot WoW, and .... the girlfriend. :)

I think HB made a mistake with lifetime (10 year licenses). As a business owner I want a constant revenue stream not a one time buy.

HB should have sold the licenses with a 1 or 2 year expiration to keep the revenue stream going. This would allow for funding the improvement of BGBuddy instead of other bot bases.

I'm sorry this is so ridiculous.
This is the absolute biggest problem with both the community and the developers.
The developers and the fanboys scream "You are so entitled and pissy - just be glad the bot starts up! If you want it to actually do something - PAY MORE or shut up! Thank you devs for blessing the world with your light!"

That being said - I have and will continue to support independent developers for well-made products. I own lots of routines and profiles I've paid for.
My expectation is NOT a $250 setup - ALL I require is a change in pathing for bg buddy... i'm not asking it to fold my clothes, fix my dinner, or go to work for me. I'm asking it to do what it is supposed to do without fail. I'm asking it to perform flawlessly. Just as I ask my car, my watch, and my computer to perform flawlessly. I don't pay for products that work some of the time.
So please spare me the "desirable and decent" BS - I call you out on that 100%.
We don't expect you to go above and beyond - we just want some pathing and love fixes on BG buddy.

Running Singular and BGBuddy will get you banned

I lol at "bot trains" in BGs who are using stock HB setup.

These people stand out like a sore thumb and get reported right away.

If you want to look like a real human and not stand out - you have to buy stuff from the buddystore.
 
OK Kuat - you win. Buy all you want on our store. We all bot for fun and if that makes it more fun for you, then who am I to disagree?
 
I did buy a lot of stuff. And it's a good thing there are such quality products available.

Before that, I used to cringe looking at my character botting. It was so obvious. Even used to receive whispers from players that they reported me.

But with some paid plugins/routines/bases it looks much, much better now.

I guess the buddystore costs offset the basic Honor Buddy cost, which is a one time payment instead of a more business oriented model - subscription. So i don't complain.

Buddy Store is an extra option. It gives many benefits for both users and developers. So stop whining Kuat. You will not get banned by using Singular and bgbuddy. You get banned by abusing it.

could you draw the line between using and abusing please? with facts, no "rough estimations". Thanks in advance.

BGBuddy is quite "old" and you can see whos using it in the battlegrounds - ontopic.

I think Randomstraw is on point here - Kuat is far from whining - he is giving his opinion as a community member - he mentions that he pays for routines just as I do - I think we have earned a chance to share our opinions on the matter!
 
Iam not going to give any sensitive information for the safety of all botters. Cheers good luck all with botting honorbuddy is safe like always:)

Why are you being so combative? A real issue has clearly been brought up (and brought up many times before me). Instead of fighting us on it, why don't you just spend some time to fix the issues? Or like I said, release us some bgbuddy source that we can play with?

Your replies are full of so much hyperbole instead of just taking on board the criticism and working to fix it to ensure the safety of your customers. How can I recommend hb to my friends for botting their honor in WoD, if they need to spend an extra $100 each on profiles and botbases, just to do what honorbuddy is supposed to do on its own?

We're not asking for all the crazy cool features millz has in his bgfarmer. We're asking for some minor fixes to bgbuddy, to issues that have been around for years. OR, the ability to make those fixes ourselves. I don't think this is unreasonable.
 
Well it's been a month with no word... Time for a bump? I'd really love some dev input to the effect of either:
a) We're looking into releasing the botbase source, or
b) We're looking into fixing the logic to allow user-setting-based objective weights, and other things to help avoid the honorbuddy conga line.
 
With their $$$ Store they do not care about the main features anymore, all they do is tell you to spend another xx $ cause its already on the store for sale.
They got too greedy lets see how it works out for them.

bgbuddy is a basic bot, like everything else in hb
hb allows you to do something "basic" it gives you the facility, its up to the community to provide the "core, heart, ingredients" of the bot bases.

if you want more features, then either make your own bot or buy bgfarmer

if you want hb to update/do a new bgbuddy then imo. they should charge for it.
 
I'd have to agre with this, originaly the reason i bought HB was for the BGbuddy. Honestly, with a name such as Honor Buddy, you would think it would be the priority for the bot base. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of great features in HB. but in other areas it is quite lacking. I have no problem with ppl selling their work, they have earned it without question, some prices may be a bit overboard. and yes if you want it bad enough you will end up paying for it, but the fact of the matter is that the pvp aspect of the bot was what had drawn alot of customers into buying it in the first place. Certain aspects of the bot have fallen by the way side (whether it be by lack of programers or lack of want to push forward in these areas) it seems over time and dosn't seem to have a true future other than having to buy some ones profile from the store. Bring the flames. I know they will roll. either way op is right. just my opinion.
 
I use bgfarmer, but I tend to agree with the OP for the most part. I don't think they need to completely remake bgbuddy, but in the interest of protecting accounts, I think they should make an attempt to fix some of the more obvious and long-standing issues, particularly with pathing. I can spot a bgbuddy within the first few seconds of a map as I am sure anyone familiar with it can. Like many others have said, it is called honorbuddy and the team constantly says that protecting our accounts is a priority. That doesn't seem to be the case when you see your toon run back and forth over and over again with 5 other bots doing the same. You might as well name your guy Bot and create a guild called I am botting, it really is that obvious.

With that said, just buy bgfarmer. It isn't perfect, but it is much better. You are right that you shouldn't have too, but being right won't protect your account. I live in a community where I have to buy a parking pass to park next to my own house. I shouldn't have to do that either, but if I don't they tow my car. Then I have to pay $350 to get my car back. I shouldn't have to, but that is life. You either shovel shit or get buried in it.
 
If you want to truly know someone, do something with him/her that involves money.

Kick had a couple zones for me ready to bot as soon as WOD was available and a full 100 profile in about a week. I farmed 2 characters to full 550 gear with bgbuddy, it was decent, my third I used bgfarmer which was better. I level 1 character from 1-90 with questing and kick's, it worked pretty well aside from a few stuck places. When patches roll out we get an update in a few hours. The bot base seems fine. Sure it needs some improvements in certain points, but to call it a sinking ship is a bit of an exaggeration.

In all fairness most of the stuff they ship with the bot is decent enough for the price. If you want the best though, you have to pay extra for it. If you are unwilling to do that, I'd recommend Enyo with one of Tuanha's free routines for dungeons and raids. You'll get about 10% less damage and healing, you'll need to manually use trinkets, and you'll miss out on a few other cool options, but it is more than good enough to keep you viable. As for honorfarming, well bgbuddy got me 2 characters complete 550 gear at 90. Despite it doing some very bad pathing at times, which I do think needs an update in the interest of account safety, I never even got a warning or heard anyone call me a bot in chat.

I love my bot. Granted I put about $40 dollars into it after buying the base, but I think that is reasonable considering what I got for the $40.

sir you are bugging if you think this is a pissy post, the OP is dead on. and before you jump on me, I am a staunch supporter of HB and have never had a post complaining about the service but i am also one of those few rare people that supports honesty with no regards to position.
