That's quite likely the culprit.

yep multi IP logs just locked it to make sure your not being hacked

This is something I experience anywhere from 3 to 5 times per week. It's not necessarily because you're logging and from two different IP addresses, actually, it is but blizzards detection system is ridiculously sensitive.

The new logging system was supposed to learn the locations (IP and geographic) you regularly logged in from and white list them. Unfortunately, numerous people are experiencing this problem. It simply hasn't white listed some locations. I discussed this twice with blizzard support and they admit it is a problem "for some people".

If it gets to a point where it becomes unbearable you can ask them to white list everything, so for the next 30 days we ever you connect from will be added to the white list.

I doubt it is from the multiple IP's.. for well over a year i would switch between multiple locations (different IP nets - Comcast, quest, private networks) when i moved around on my laptop (school, home, various family members, various states).. and never once got a notice for anything on 5 different accounts

Yes it is. This is exactly the cause. This is not speculation, I'm talking about first-hand experience and multiple discussions with blizzard support.
