VMware

I'm answering myself, I was running archeage out of the virtual machine, from a mapped drive, once I setup the permissions correctly it works

now the problem I have is that it tells me often that the gods have disconnected me

Guys, Are people protected form HWID if using VMware? Or does it contain the same HWID as main host

Im getting the same disconnected error in my VM, have you found a way to fix it?

anyone is running this without archeage installed inside the guest computer?, I can run AA but when I try to do it from a shared folder it has some kind of permission issues I can't figure out after giving all kind of permissions in both host and guest

OKAY!

After HOURS of research and tweaking with things I have been successfully able to fix my personal errors where I see some people have been having problems like myself. HERE IS A FEW EXTRA STEPS!

Install your VMware Tools the FIRST THING YOU DO!

NEXT FOLLOW OUTs INSTRUCTIONS TO THE KEY

That's actually pretty much it. If you open dxdiag and 3D excel isnt enabled that is why your splash screen is crashing! That means you do not have VMware Tools! You must install it before doing anyof those steps.

What are you VM settings at? What is your system specs? Are you running AA on the main PC in windowed? Did you ever experience the VM locking up visually like I am? On your VM when you input those items in the config, do you see vmware tools in the task manager?

My VM is still visually freezing after 2-10 minutes of botting.

Anyone figure this out yet?

A little update on my end, seems how successfull you are with doing VMWare + ArcheAge depends alot on what version of VMWare you use,

For example, VMWare Fusion 6.4 (i think it was) worked flawlessly with the guide i posted, however, after upgrading my operating system to Yosemite, i had to upgrade Fusion to 7.0 and alas, now working to find a workaround to get AA working again,

If anyone has happened to stumble across something not already mentioned in this thread, feel free to toss it in :) as will i.

Edit.

Amusingly enough, i seem to have "hacked" my VM to the extent that VMWare itself no longer considers it a virtual machine (i.e can't reinstall vmware tools and such, still runs, tho) yet glyph is still being a biatch, imagine that.

I finally got mine working. After trying all the help on this forum I was getting disconnect at server select and never making it into game. I just installed Windows 8.1 on a VM (previously I was on Win7) Now the game runs and I have had virtually no crashes following the instructions posted previously around regEdit and editing the .vmx

Also thanks to Out for trying to help me previously :)

since archebuddy gives a separate mac/hwid on a per account basis and also lets you set a proxy for each account wouldn't it be best to run multiple accounts from the real computer using archebuddy and proxy addresses and not bother with virtual machines?

do virtual machines offer any advantage over this method?

If you want to play your main on the real computer you can bot "safe" in parallel on the VM. If you only bot on the physical real computer and do not plan to login via glyph, then you do not need a VM.

ok thanks, yeah i had not considered people who want to play for real on a legit account while botting on other accounts. i was thinking about it only from a pure botter perspective. i get it now.

and virtual machines may use more resources but it may be easier to organize.

main issue for disconnects imo is hard disk speed, prolly noone here is running the virtual machine in a SSD, this makes everything really slow and makes the game timeout its connections

when I have time I will try a bit more to run with a mapped drive and if I get it see if it solves de issue

Wanted to give an update to my VM locking up. I bumped my system up to 24GB memory and allocated an obscene amount of memory to the VM (12GB) and moved the VM to a separate SSD disk to rule those out. The VM is still locking up after about 30-60 seconds in game. I have a GTX 770 so I don't think it is video related, but could be wrong. I know that if I run AA on the VM without AA running on my local system, it works just fine. However when I have both running at the same time is when I have issues with locking up.

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm having same problem with a 780 gtx.

Same problem with a gtx 780 except that im just trying to run one archeage client in vmware, nothing else running on the host.
Also i notice some graphic bugs in game before it freezes.
I have everyting set on low regarding the graphics option.
I've tryed to expand the memory 4/6/9 GB and still no change.
Vmware 10 + win 8.1 x64 on a SSD.
I'm trying on win 8.1 x86 now.
I'm starting to think that there is a problem with vmware tools when hidding the vm.

ps;Jasper when you say its running fine with 1 client how long you tryed ? because for me it can run till 30 mn before it lock up.
not every times but sometimes it can and sometimes it last 1 mn.

If you get "Disconnected by the gods" after server selection or after character selection, install all windows updates. Basically if you can get through the first splash screen/hackshield logo, the fault lies in the game client and not in the VM.

no, it stops after green loading icon :/

Mine gets into the game, and onto my character. Then as I start the plugin using the plugin manager, the game itself shuts down. No messages. Just closes.
The game itself works fine, and never closes when NOT using with archebuddy.
