Crafting on my main account.

Hey guys.

I was wondering if using my main account to craft materials I gathered with my bot would put my main account at risk.

I would be using the gbank to transfer the materials to my main account, craft items out of the materials, then transfer the items back into the gbank for my bot account to sell.

Does that sound safe enough or is there anything I can do to use my main account to craft materials that my bot gathers?
 
I would say your main is perfectly safe if you do it that way from my experience.

While I can appreciate that this is "your experience", it is troubling because it may lead the OP to a false sense of security. The truth of the matte is that by handling any materials or gold gained by the bot on your Main account does in fact put it at risk. It all depends on the GM you get investigating. If they decide to track the flow they can and sometimes do ban every account involved.

Speaking from personal experience several times over I have had accounts banned that were nothing more than safety net accounts for a Guild Bank that I was running materials through. i.e. accounts that never had a second of the HB process attached.

There are a million different stories supporting both sides of the story so ultimately you must decide risk vs. reward. Chances are you could be totally fine doing this for several years and never lose your main account. Or you could get a Quad shot triple cappuccino skittle sucking coke snorting GM that has not been laid in 6 months looking to stick it to the Botting community that has made his personal life a living hell, and you can kiss em all goodby.

I have been reading the forums and seen people doing what I said and still get banned, just like your story.

Also like you said, any time an account gets an unfair advantage through botting, it is at risk of getting banned even if said account never touched HB.

My question now is this. Does the guild vault transfer/crafting reduce risk of getting caught or banned? Or is this technique an unnecessary precautionary measure and it all just depends on the GM reviewing your activity?
 
If you are unlucky u will get your main banned aswell, happened to me few months ago. All inclusive main, EU servers.

reduce your risk relative to what? Face to Face transfers? (In my opinion:Yes), Mail transfers? (In my opinion:Yes). But again at the end of the day its all just speculation and based on individual experience. I know that I have had better luck with GB transactions than any other method, but I have also lost accounts in all scenarios, the only 100% safe practice is to not use HB at all but what would be the fun in that?
 
OK so say I'm the only botter in my guild, at guild not owned by me but another random player, an active guild that raids and plays normally etc.

I put all my botted materials into the guild bank for the guild to use as they please.

Do all the guild members get banned for using botted items, because they don't know any better?

I don't think so?

If a GM can realistically connect your "friends" using Mats obtained via illegal activity then yes they could potentially receive bans as well. Now the likelihood of that actually happening is probably very very low. But linking up 2 accounts that consistently share materials and gold on a regular basis, then the odds go up. If those 2 accounts are logging in from the same IP, odds go up, same 2 accounts from the same pc, you guessed it....odds go up.

The more 2 accounts can be linked the riskier it is for both accounts. Now some may get away with shuffling stuff or sharing with friends/guldies indefinitely and never get pinched. The bottom line is Blizz does not need to prove anything, they can Ban anyone anytime for anything. So the simple answer to your "what if..." scenario is yes they could all be banned.
 
I have one Accound with some full skilled professions. My farmers send the mats to the chars on that account with additional 50g. The crafting account crafts it, keeps the 50g and sends the crafted stuff back. Farmers get banned, crafting account not. That crafting account also crafts for some real players and they also send me some gold to that account. So it should be prettey safe
 
Don't get me wrong I do this all of the time on several accounts. I did not say "Don't do it", The OP asked if his Main account "could..." get banned. The answer is YES it can but there are varying degrees of risk.

to put it another way:

If you get this as your GM you will likely get away with a 72 hr suspension on one account...
