You really think WoW wants to get rid of us that bad...if they could ban all of us theyd lose out on a lot of profit.
2009 called, they want their "they can ban us" logic back.
They want to know all the cheaters out there, to block them as they like. What?

I assure you both of those statistics you just made up are not the majority. Play a FPS game and it's pretty much an third of the userbase hacking in some fashion. It being the most abused is true, but the game is also the biggest, so you're not accounting for the relative scale.I believe you put too much faith into the pseudo veil into the logic that helps you feel better. Blizzard does want the cheaters gone but they want to do it without breaking us enough. Alot of people has left wow because it has become possibly the most cheated/easily abused major mmo in the market. I agree every MMO has its black market but right now soon the botters/cheaters will out number the legit players and that is when the game will pretty much topple.
Nobody in this thread was arguing the long term practicality of letting the bot live. Blizzard has already taken long term action by suing us. It's also not very "big picture" to say botters are hurting them more when botters are a part of the fuel in a realm's economy, as well as the thousands of botters who pay Blizzard subscriptions. Removing them in healthy amounts keeps the game's image from turning sour, but in my years of raiding have I never heard of someone who quit the game because of botters. Honorbuddy deals too little damage to an individual botter to warrant that. If they remove too many, they do nothing but invite a new bot to the take power and they just lost a ton of money, but not banning people would destroy the game's image and actually make people leave. They know what they're doing, but they're not on a vendetta against us right now.It is healthy for Blizzard and the long term effect of wow to try to keep it as cheat free as possible. Point is Blizzard will ban you eventually. They have more to lose by not banning you then letting us run scott free but until then I will enjoy the ride.
Wow. It's like the Glider forums all over again....
Gasp!! Talk about a slap in the face. Itleast the honorbuddy forums are way more civilized then the doom and gloom days of MMO glider. A good year before its ultimate closure people were blatantly threatening and accusing the creator of selling the entire account list and joining Blizzard's side. I dare say that the buddy forums has a higher standard then that.
