Soo.. Am I screwed?

1. No offense to anyone here, but if you don't know the current status of the tripwire, please don't comment. Blizzard may still scan for previous values through Warden, even if it's been updated. If we aren't being protected from those previous scans, I would like to know. Noone here can comment on that effectively besides a dev or moderator (and I see that Bambam gave really the only acceptable answer in this case). Please don't assume you know anything unless it's been commented on by a dev or developer about the status of a security system. You don't. If you could find out, Bambam, that would be great.

2. Please don't try and egg on the moderators. I dislike certain moderators as much as anyone else here, but we don't need to call names and get a thread closed. Some of us are attempting to have a conversation without the need for name calling. No need to ruin the conversation for the rest of us.
 
I believe that patience is the key here, less assumption, more cowbell is needed.

Seriously though, people stop assuming, presuming, and only choose your judgments and words based on deductions. Thanks!

These are not contradictory.
Although I quoted ryftobuddy, this is directed at all the confused people here.
HB is not detected. That is to say, simply running the program is not detectable by Warden. That is the comment that prompted Tony to speak up. The official announcement, as has been stated many times in this forum, clearly states what has happened (Warden behaviour has changed), clearly states what the HB crew are doing about (Analysed the situation and re-opened the servers) and added a caution that there is now a higher state of risk than before.

There is no conspiracy. There is no contradiction.
Blizzard has changed the code. Even though they can't directly detect HB, they are obviously up to something. Consequently, a heightened state of awareness would be prudent at this time.

To answer the question posed by this thread (AKA staying on topic) You aren't screwed (yet).

Who are you to say that the values changed in a way that made it that HB isn't fully detected now? You are absolutely in no position to state anything of the sort, so please don't make such comments. The only thing you know is that the behavior changed. You aren't in any position to say how those behaviors changed, so you aren't in a position to make any statement concerning such things. You aren't in a position to tell people their status on getting screwed by Blizzard.

As others have stated, it may be days - weeks before we find anything out if it was detected or not.
 
Here is my theory.. lol

As a software developer, I understand their position on why they can't say for certain. Disassambly of an executable can be illegal by itself already and can make the person(or a company) liable. With Bosslands' given legal status, (in a war with Blizz..) it can hurt them badly enough to lose the whole case if they say something that isn't appropriate. So vague mentioning of what is happening is probably intended

Technically, if one can watch their own memory space and common OS components, There is enough to know it is detected or not.. Personally, I take it as "Honorbuddy is not detected", just like what was told, instead of taking it as "Honorbuddy is not detectable as it is at this moment".

After all, you are using a bot. You have always been in the risk of losing your toon anyways. It is your call to get into the botting world, so you just need to pay the price if your decision casuses damage.

Meanwhile, I am botting even more than pre-tripwire event days because if I am going to lose my toons, I have to make their impending deaths worth while. :D

Yes, lets believe the "software developer" who joined less then a week ago making his first post about how its safe to bot and HB is not detected.

its not becuase its stand software developer lol , but thats why they cant tell us what going on and they know that ( Disassambly of an executable can be illegal) read bam comments and think about it abit the one after tony comment

They've made being vague into a sport. Im sure they could formulate sentences without incriminating themselves ?
If they cant, get a lawyer to write it for them and communicate with your customerbase.

I know it might seem like a hobby community around here, seeing how shit is handled but dont forget that Bossland is a profitmaking company with responseabilities just like any other company.
They just get away with so much shit cause people either dont care or dont understand.

Good point that I have only joined a week ago with this account. Maybe whatever your 90 year old neighbors who lives this planet long enough says must be always truth then, right?

Not to start a flame war but..

If you don't like or agree with my 'theory' that is fine. Because you have a different view on the topic. But don't try to bite on things I have never said. When did I ever say botting right now is safe? I specifically says that I am botting anyways because I do not care if I lose toons.

Guys, Imo this hcnaged could be something like, a new method to track botlike actions, for example, farm bots and BG bots... Nothing related to actually detecting HonorBuddy process.
 
It could be, or it could be any number of other things.

People think that Blizz's detection strategies exist solely to catch HB. That is far from the truth. There's probably 100 different wow bots out there, my best bet is their detection strategies involve catching as many as they can with as little effort as possible.

Are you saying HB is going to get shutdown by blizzard? noooooo. Then another team will take over a new bot for WoW and make it smarter and smarter and make a killing off us just like HB did :D
 
What if Blizzard made a slight change to Warden just to see who stops playing X amount of hours?

Like for instance,u been playing your level 78 shammy for one to two days straight then all of a sudden u stop playing during the hours (usually over night) and dont bother touching it until u think its safe and thats how they get u....
