Did we lose our option to adjust speed?

I noticed that I no longer have my slider for the speed? Did this have to go away due to the recent updates?

I kind of disagree, I keep getting the message "process must have frozen or gotten out of sync" and I never got this when I was able to adjust speed to the lowest setting :\.
