So, i think everyone knows the mantra floating around here, like, someone QQ's about his class, the explanation for him how to farm efficiently and make tons of dps without gear :

>click switch character
>create wd
>level to 70 with merchant t6 in ~3h
>run chest a5 t6 for 24-48h
>run ghom t5 24h
>run ghom t6 24h in 15s/kill
>run ghom t6 forever 5s/kill

Yeah, lots of people say that, or things similar to that, me myself too, thinking of it like its a joke, or making fun of Blizz' "class balance"

Well, i was a bit bored of my DH (400+h played) and my barb (600+h played), so i thought *Hell, why not, lets level up that WD thats sitting at level 37 since shortly after D3 release, might be quite some fun, pet build, do nothing and relax. well, that being said, i switched, let the bot do his work.

now its two days later, wd dinged 70 pretty fast, got a jerams 100% during chest runs, together with a soj 28% cc/cdmg perf, 3pc zuni, perf trifecta vaxo, hes going down on t5 ghom right now like its a cake, 4-6s killtime. oh, and he got a witching hour too, 7/48. rest of his gear isnt any special, random legendarys, mediocre rolls, nothing special. only reason i cant do t6 with him is i dont have a maras. also i think my build isnt optimal, nor do i know whats bis gear for wd, never cared, only thing i know is you need the jerams mask and thasker gloves for big dps.

wd has now 39h played, has more sheet dps than my other chars, and im not sur what to think of it. i mean, the fuck is going on ? i havent gotten a soj on the barb after 600h played, and i dont want to mention that this fucktard class got more killpower than a nuclear bomb with total crap gear, i now understand and believe that you can get 5s kills on t6 with a wd.

im not sure, but i have the urge to just ragequit. hows your opinion on this situation, do you own a wd, what do you think of this imbalance ?

if anyones interested, heres the ghom build im using, if theres room for improvement, tell me, im a nub at wd, as i mentioned earlier.

i switched from wd to barb because wd sucks apart from ghom or single target in general (my wd kills ghom T6 in 4sec). in fact i think barb is the best class for solo play. i didnt bot a lot with demonhunter or crusader though but the others cannot compete for sure. you just have to know what to do.

Aside from combat, graphics and maybe a few minor other things, diablo 3 is just a terrible, terrible game overall.

Whoever is in charge of class/item balance should get fired ASAP.

Anyway, in the current build of the game, WDs are so grossly overpowered that it is ridiculous. (For both party play and solo.)

Even in t6, if you have a az fist zdps monk and jade WD, those 2 can speed-carry a full room. Other 2 can just stand around doing nothing, and it will still be faster than a party that has barbs and wizards as damage dealers. For solo, all classes aside from monk can clear t6 rift pretty fast.

Assuming you have good gear, the rank goes as the following:

For party,
monk,WD >> Crusader, DH >>> Barb, Wiz.

For solo,
WD > DH > Crusader > Wiz >> Barb >>>> Monk.

I liked it better when WD was the underdog. we had our dirty little tricks to make things work. pailing in comparison to WW barbs and perma-arch wizards and DH hell monks would wipe the floor exp and dps wise.

Doing ghom over and over again is not playing any class you just pick your best DPS up and away you go.

Can WD's wipe out groups of elites t6. yes but only with best in slot gear I can do t5 t6 runs but they are slow cause i don't have best in slot. BUT i do full run rifts t4 making around 800 million to 1.5 billion/hr depending on rift density and i can take on 3 packs of elites and the rift boss and not break a sweat.

Are they over powered? I don't know, i think all classes should work that way with the tears, they you step up to whats efficient till eventually you rape the game.

the other classes will get buffed this has already been stated. i don't know if they will tweek WD or not, i am thinking not. teired rifts will bring a new level of challange that may kick even the most decked out wd's butt.

just my 2 cents on it.

Build-wise, this is my personal recommendation for maximum dps output:

Witch Doctor - Game Guide - Diablo III

Quick explanation:

Pierce the Veil is fairly straightforward, the other three passives are meant to increase the damage dealt by your dogs, whether you have a Tall Man's Finger or have yet to drop it (if you do have one already, swap out your Unity - do keep your Stone of Jordan, by all means). Zombie Dogs will of course replace Vampire Bats. Having the ring does help, since it boosts your damage significantly - the empowered dog hits like a truck, and doesn't wall out your fetishes. Also, you want to pick the three free extra fetishes passive over the fire ones.

As for gearing, you want to stack Fetish Army damage on your Mojo, Chest and Shoulder pieces, plus Physical damage on your Stone of Jordan, Amulet and Bracers. For a weapon, a decently rolled Sunkeeper, Thunderfury (I use a pair of Thunderfuries on myself and my Enchantress, it brings me back to my old Elemental Shaman days in WoW) or Doombringer all do their job nicely.

Happy farming!

Indeed, no actives are actually required for running Ghom (the bot will still autoattack, though - Thunderfury procs off autoattacks as well, for instance). As far as Fetish Army is concerned, having eight dagger-wielding, hopping and frenzied fetishes stabbing Ghom does outscale the Wrathful Protector's damage by quite a wide margin.
Also, although it is not really noticeable on Ghom, Gargantuans have a bad habit of getting walled out by your other pets, and since blowing a 60 second cooldown on a sky-staring, thumb-fiddling giant puppet never felt ideal to me, I got rid of it for anything that is not a Ghom run.

how much xp does that work out at ?

retired dh at 700+, thinking time to retire monk at 550+

Just had to reply to the thread, been playing 1200hours on my barb atm (can do ghom at 18-20 sec tweaked out) but just for fun, I made a WD last week and ran chests for a full week. with 3k ping I clear im at 17 sec (guessing it will be half when ppl who abuse my connection dies)

what version of ghom profile? range face or normal for WD?

normal one from the musketeer pack, f2f tends to get slapped once in a while, doesnt matter if you have maras thou. ranged wastes way too much time for positioning

900k/h with crap gear on t5, but pool bonus all the way (synergy profile yai)

Demon Hunters are quite strong once you get to the six-piece Marauder's set bonus, to be honest.
However, depending on your gear (damage chiefly relies on Tasker and Theo and Mask of Jeram) and hardware (since when you are fully geared the clearspeeds is only affected by how long it takes for you to create/leave games, etc), and factoring in Pools of Reflection, you are looking at anywhere from one (worst case scenario) to two billions of experience per hour for Torment 6 runs.

Ghom Ghom Ghom Ghom Ghom Ghom. Is this all the WD is good for? I'm so sick of Ghom! What is a good build for doing rifts & bounties?

Because Ghom is without doubt the best profile there is. You're welcome to do chest run, and not get xp, or rifts/bounties and get a significant drop in Legs/hr. If you play WD, the class is build for Ghom. The profile is simple, and must viable because you wont get stuck or something like that. Just make it run 24h, and you have a filled stash with legs.

That being said. WD are very good characters for t6 rift with PET build aswell if thats what you want. WD are like hunters in world of warcraft. With pets, its the best farming class there is. Barbarians and wizards are just bad for DB compared to this class.

Im killing Ghom in 12 secs on T6. When I stop the bot, and plays some rifts myself. I just put on full jade set, and goes DoT build with 100m+ crit on t6. The class is so OP.

I was in the same boat as you before this patch. Guy on Reddit posted a simple guide for WD using channeled spells and Fetish Sycophants. I think, "sure, why not?" and got one Powerleveled. Had a pile of Aughilds and other mats lying around from random scripts, and a lot of gems.

Crafted 3 piece Aughilds, moved a Thunderfury onto him that I had before, and used gems to craft jewelry. Within a couple of hours of play at 70 he was doing T3 Ghom. I left chest runs on at work the next couple of days. Regeared, started doing T5 Ghom with ease. The moment I found out I had found an MoJ, didn't matter how poorly rolled it was, I got to ~56 GPH of T6 Ghom. Ridiculous. There's other characters that I've run chests for over a week and are just for show.

I made a post about the gear + build I was using for Ghom only. +74% Elite Damage right now. If I had a better computer, could easily be doing 60+, but there's always some lag time in between games.

I saw this profile sometime ago... Could someone link it again? After 500 hours on a Barb, trying every conceivable build, it's become pretty boring. I'm in the same boat with a 30-something bare WD and wouldn't be able to run anything else at the moment.

getting 12 legendarys/h in rifts and more than 2 billion exp/h doing bounties. yeah ghom is def the best profile. in rifts im getting the same exp as with ghom. (as a barb)

Yeah... It felt too clunky for me, not only to watch, but play as well. I also found a lightning/AOE build to be more efficient. Maybe I'm just tired of Barbs in general; the only thing left I really wanted to try was Little Rogue/Slander, but wasn't able to find the latter.
