Best runs?

Hey all, i recently saw a friend of mine using demonbuddy to farm for sets in d3 and after seeing how much he has gained in a matter of a few days compared to what i have managed i decided i would give botting a go. Im currently running act 4 all bounties script i found here on the forums after a bit of trouble i figured out how to get it all running

My question though is this, What runs are best depending what im wanting to get?

Crafting mats?
Legendary/set items? this one being my priority i would love to know what is considered the best script for this kind of farming
lastly best gold/xp per hour?

I have never known where the best farming spots were or where i should be going but if you guys could point me in the right direction to get started i would be very appreciative.

Hi,

I would say, if you want legendary mats you should go bounties since some of the quests include bosskills which drops leg mats. Might be a slow farming method but you have a great chance getting exp, gold, legs and mats at the same time.

If you just want fast exp/gold and some legs you should go for the Ghom farm (http://www.thebuddyforum.com/demonb...eteers-fast-legendary-farm-after-2-0-4-a.html).

For legs and gold only I would say Siege Champ Chest Runner (http://www.thebuddyforum.com/demonb...rkable-db-release-v1-1-r1898-build-362-a.html).

Ok thank you now with ghom you said some legendaries? does that mean there is a profile that will net me even more legendaries/sets or thats about the best option? Ill be running t2 for the time being until i have better gear if that makes a difference at all

There is actually no "best place" since legs and set items can drop everywhere but some places might have a greater chance than others but I'm not sure.

Ghom is nice but if you don't have good gear you can't run T6 Ghom which means reduced leg find %. I run that profile in T1 and the exp/gold is nice but the drop chance of legs isn't that high.

The chest profile is really nice if you don't care about exp. Since this profile doesn't require any gear (all u need is some hp so you can survive 2 tower hits some times) you can run it in T6 which gives u a greater chance of finding legs (There are no mobs in this area!).
I've been running chest farming now for 10-15hrs and when I woke up this morning I had 3 stash pages of legs/set items waiting for me

Perfect i dont care much about the exp, im at paragon 126 legit so i dont wanna gain to much from botting just want the decent gear to get up to t6 etc, chest run it is. top for gold is ghom i assume? Thank you for helping the noob

No problem I don't know how much difference Ghom vs chestrun is in gold but when i run chest profile I set the "minimum gold pile" to 5000+ so it doesn't pick up everything, this makes it run faster.
With the Ghom profile I have minimum gold pile set to "100" since the gold already stands near you it's not that much loss in time picking it up.

But you will probably see atleast 1-2mil gold/h either way

Ok i outfitted my demon hunter with the most life/def i can get and shes been running for about a half hour now oddly enough i have yet to get a single legendary or set piece its been purely gold so far, is that normal or are my drops broken

Are you running Ghom? Drops are random so it can happen anytime.

With chest farming I have around 4-5 legs/h after running 10hrs straight.

Running chests, i know mf doesnt effect chests atleast not last i checked so i figured i should be getting a lot more legs should i not? its not even getting much gold per run averaging about 20k. Almost seems like the game says its running in t6 but it really isnt cause it should pull a lot more then 20k gold a run i would think.

20k gold per run isn't bad, what does the DB window say under "General"..there u have gold per hour.

I have average 15k - 20k gold per run. And this is with the "gold pile" setting on 5000+. Try mixing with the trinity options under "Items" tab and see if that helps.
Also make sure you have "Torment 6" set in the bot settings.


As I said earlier, you don't get legs on each run so u haveto be patient. Sometimes my toon goes 50-60rounds without finding anything...it's all random drops.

I mostly bot with my Crusader but so far I got 2 set items for WD (when I farmed with Crusader ) which was 1 Zunimas ring and 1 Jade Glove.
The rest is just crappy legs and a few good ones.

Fair enough, matter of time i suppose. My dh just pulled two legs back to back both of which were improvements over what she was wearing so i cant complain much gold is up to 1.2mil an hour and i swapped out a bunch of skills and passives for things that massively improved the run speeds.

i was actually just using a rift bot the past few hours getting roughly 4 lph, actually got a piece of the set im after so thats a win. ran for about 3 hours came back to 6 paragon levels 8 milliono gold and almost 500 bloodshards

Nope, still same xp/gold for t6 ghom... the patch only nerfed the bounty xp rewards such as clear hellrift bounties.

As far as leg drops go, if you can kill ghom in under 10-15 seconds, it is probably the better overall method of farming as i get just as many legs on my dh and wd... however for classes w/ lower burst damage such as monks and crusaders and can't burn ghom down as fast (or maybe they can and i just need better gear), i find chest running more effective. Generally you would do chest runs till you get gear that will let you burn ghom (mara kaleidoscope is pretty much a must so you can just stand in his farts and dps)
