WD fetish changes...anyone verify their statements?

I have fetish army but I wanted to see if you could make a full army with procs.
So I cast firebats and the most I got was 4.
I tried firebats on a nado with a tons of mobs in it and ended up with 3.
I was told to try rain of toads with nado.
Got 4.

VERY LIMITED testing but I don't see any difference than before the patch.

no one said it but I have a gibdin I can try that, don't know if all this is tied to specific items or not.

Want to try again looking for ideas (would removing army from my bar make a difference?)
There are people saying they get 15 ( the new max, I am assuming includes army) I can only say, ok I won't say until someone makes an informed post.

I do not use army because it kills the fetishes from FS when you use it. The Gidbinn fetishes are different and do less damage, so it's not worth using.

I've been using medusa spiders and corpse bomb and generally have max FS all the time. I'm still trying to come up with an ideal build, but so far I'm tearing through T4 like it's nothing and my gear is far from optimal.
 
The only differences with the Gidbinn Fetishes, are that they are half the size, and last only 20 seconds. The damage is the same. But if you don't have Starmetal, keep trying for it.

Wrong.

They have less HP, about half damage and cant crit. Its not only about the size and duration.
 
Ski I will give that build a try when I get home. DAMN WORK keeps getting in the way of my play time.
I never used the gibdin just got it on a drop and thru it in my stash.
If I had a starmetal I would just go crazy, I have tried for that thru bounty, rift and chest runs and NOTHING

Yup, I'm about 5000 shards deep into a Starmetal.

I've also had varying success replacing corpse bomb with haunt because of the 70y range that haunt will search for new enemies now. It's a little slower, but it's kind of like autopilot because you just run and spam haunt.
 
ok to clear a few things up (that I am aware of so far)
They have stealthed a nerf to FS with a cap of 15 (not mentioned anywhere in patch)
FS are currently overwriting FA, so if you have FA summoned and hit cap of 15 then any further summons will kill off your FA, which means you have 15 fetish that DON'T get any bonus from elemental damage buff and they will die faster than FA

Currently have stashed my Starmetal and am currently using a Rhen'ho Flayer and this build Witch Doctor - Game Guide - Diablo III
I just save FA for when I meet an elite pack or boss as you are popping FS every few seconds (you can swap from Addling Toads for CC to Rain of Toads for crazy fetish popping, can swap garg to wrathful too if you want) this is melting t4 (elite pack in 3-4 seconds) and I only have 900k dps and 8m tough on my WD

Yup, I would not use FA and FS together for this reason.
 
Try Plague of Toads with Rain of Toads rune.. combo with Pirhanado...

Watch the procs and profit.
 
Yes i tested it last night with a 1.84 APS and had over 12 fetishes running around for quite some time
 
just tried it and its smooth.
At first I tried it on T2 and had no problems manually running, so T3 and it was the same.
POOR how the drops changed on this patch...About 90% of yellow mobs dropped NOTHING not even gold.
 
Plague of toads is the best FS proc ever if u r using rhen'ho flayer with explosing frogs (fire build). PSN or Psychical build should use piercing ones or for higher difficulties addling cause they rock ;p Im using 5 fetishes from army and 2 shamans from tiki torchers and ussually I always have 10+ while im playn on t2. Mobs are at 1 hit from me. So proc on higher difficulties should be to high ;) ROT not recommended by me, but in fact they are hitting over the affixies wall so that may be safe. OFC for botting I suggest using new 6 dogs build with leeching beasts and stack as many loh as u can.
