What the hell are these!?:
Item rules basically help to cut down on the junk legendaries that get stashed. By default, trinity stashes ALL legendaries. I've written rules telling trinity what legendaries to keep and what to salvage. These rules can GREATLY reduce the amount of soul crushingly bad legendaries that your little robot helpers will typically find on their adventures. If you are tired of having to manually salvage pages and pages legendaries every few days then loot rules are the solution for you.
Ahh, I don't understand!:
"I don't know how to make these work in Trinity and I can't search the forums!" No worries, you and about 90% of internet users seem to have this problem. Rather than write up yet another guide on how to get these to actually work in trinity, go on over to tmxkn1's post here and read the instructions there. If you are keen on using some item rules for non legendary stuff his are decent. If you really need a basic guide...

Awesome! I want you to as well because the odds are no two people are looking to filter the exact same items. All you need to do is download Job's 2.1 LIST legendary.zip and add -> [TRASH] to the end of the line of the legendaries you don't want kept. You can also evaluate for specific stats. Go read how ITEMRULES works here if you are wondering what the different tags for stats are. Drop rates as of 2.1 can be seen here.

Legendary list for season 3 with no rules set.

The rules I'm currently using for my Barb.

Started leveling a monk in S3 SC. Will post updated rules for monk/barb in a few days.

Basic Setup Tutorial:
- Trinity has to be set to identify legendaries for these rules to work.
- Download the zip. Unzip the folder. Put it anywhere, it doesn't matter. The world is your oyster.
- Go into Trinity settings, under "Items -> Pickup" set "Choose Item Rules Type:" to "File Based Script Rules"
- On the "ItemRules" tab set "Use Rule Set:" to "Custom *RTFM!"
- Set "Optional Custom Item Rule Set Path:" to the location of that magical folder you downloaded. Hit "Reload Script Rules" for good measure and you should be good to go. You may want to go to the "Town Run" tab and set it to salvage legendary items, as vendoring them is rather wasteful.
Itemrules can do 3 things:
- Filter out the guaranteed trash legendaries no matter their stats.
- Evaluate the stats on some legendaries that have the potential to have valuable stat combinations.
- Keep some legendaries no matter their rolls as they are generally very good, rare, or have nice additional properties that cannot be weighted in itemrules.
- You should not run these on a fresh 70!
- You should look through the list so you understand what is being stored and what isn't. Use at your own risk!
- These rules use item names from the English version of Diablo. If you use another language you will have to replace NAME with ITEMID as well as figure out what the ID is for each item.
- These rules have no overall [TRASH] rule at the bottom (I commented it out and added in individual trash rules for everything evaluated or trashed). This means if new items are added to the game or item names are changed they will automatically be kept.
